What a great find in town! The burgers are freshly made to order--no pre-formed, frozen patty discs here. I noticed a little line had formed outside the door of this corner spot one Friday evening and decided to give it a try. Inside, is a clean, but spare take out set up. Since then, I have gone 3 times before writing this review and the food has been consistently delicious every time. Outrageously juicy, flavorful burgers with crispy, Cajun seasoned fries that will haunt your dreams. The potato roll bun is soft and toasted. The fixins are fresh and the different varieties include all the yummy ingredients you would expect in hand-crafted sandwich: bacon, cheese, various spreads/sauces, etc. Bottled drinks are available to wash it all down, but the burgers are the real star here. A tiny counter provides a few seats and if the weather allows, you can sit at a couple of picnic benches on the sidewalk outside. Be prepared to wait, if they are slammed with orders, but they will warn you beforehand. My teen-aged son, who is a bit of a burger snob, gave them his coveted 10 out of 10 rating and declared it his new favorite. You...
Read more4 1/2 stars for burger - patty is on the thinner side, which I personally prefer because it negates chance of overcooking since patty only needs to cook for a few mins. Burger was very good, fries average. Minus one star for horrendous customer service. Went on a quiet Friday afternoon around 2pm. No other customers in the restaurant, 3 employees behind the counter when we walked in. Yet no one acknowledged our arrival or even stated “Hi, we’ll be right with you.” After about a minute of straight eye contact the counter/register worker finally said (with no personality or warmth) “What would you like...?” Burger was not good enough to warrant coming back and supporting an institution without adequate customer service. Only reason I could think of them hiring this guy was if he’s a relative of the owner or something similar. Also a long wait for two burgers, waited about 25 minutes for two burgers and fries. Smash burger also grills burgers fresh and takes no where as long. Burgers only cook a few mins on each side. Hopefully they address these two issues: wait time and customer service, it will go a long way in creating...
Read moreWoke up starving and wanting something greasy. That's the choice. What could be a better choice than Diesel and Duke? Or my choice of burger to be exact.
If you chose the standard like me you're going to have to remove your engagement ring from Jared :). It was messy the moment I lifted it from the box. I almost immediately wanted to put it safely back in the box. But I know that if I don't do it then I may never pick it up!
The Standard comes with ketchup, aioli , tomato and cheese. Fair warning: it comes with more than a healthy amount of both the first and second sauces. It was pouring out! I too much!
It was all over my face and my hair and other body parts. The warning was the wet wipes. Offered by bbq places. Soggy. Soggy buns.
Was it good? How will I know? It was covered in aioli and ketchup! The meat had no chance to shine.
The hand cut fries are not included. Extra pay and not that good either. Dry and not salty.
So $7.49 for the Standard + fries. Meh. I've had better!
I was so overwhelmed by the sauces pouring out of the burger I came out of their...
