Creative+ — Attraction in Montclair

I'm new to working remote full-time, and initially, I tried to make a remote work routine with a combination of home set ups, libraries, coffee shops, etc. I was looking for consistency, but nothing seemed to fit what I needed. I happened upon the day pass for Creative+, and after only a few hours and hearing Amanda's vision as the founder, I immediately joined.

This is a special place that meets criteria I didn't even think to consider. Amanda and her team have curated a physical space that is work-friendly, inspiring, and cozy. However, there is also a genuine community and an additional emphasis on creativity (whatever that may mean to you).

Not every member works or has a “day job” in the creative world (including myself). But I’d never considered looking for a coworking membership that adds to my life outside of career. While it is not technically a co-op, Amanda has used this term to describe the vision, and I completely agree.

Every member I have met so far is personally aligned with the overall vision of Creative+. Rather than a place purely focused on career hustle, I feel inspired to not only do work but also explore my writing and other creative interests I have pushed aside for too long. The community events are hosted and/or curated by members, and like a co-op, these are in response to member needs and feedback.

If you are in the area and looking for a weekday workspace, as well as a place to be creative and/or find community, I encourage you to check out Creative+. Even if it is just a day pass, it is a breath of fresh air amongst the chaos of life around...

Creative Plus is a great space where I met and connected with many brilliant people who are leaders in their fields and truly passionate about what they are doling. I also benefited immensely from their many workshops which are free for the members. One of them is Winning Wednesday - a great monthly workshop led by the amazing Michelle who helps me with time and task management and guides me to achieve my goals with feasible timelines and proper means. Being a visual artist, I also am able to showcase my artworks for free here and I just had an installation art exhibit in their beautiful space. The space is cozy and welcoming - great for coworking as well. All these benefits come with a monthly membership fee more affordable than a dinner at a local restaurant but are far more rewarding both mentally and spiritually. Becoming a Creative + member has been one of the best decisions I've made! A friend told me about it when I was looking for a space to rent for a work event, but after visiting, learning more about it and meeting Amanda, I joined on the spot! I've met such an incredible group of parents, producers, artists, and other creatives, and even made some friendships that I know will last a lifetime! Amanda puts together really interesting monthly connects, and being someone who works from home, I truly look forward to her Parents' Lunches as a way to stay connected with others.
