When it comes to caring for a loved one they are ok. BUT when a loved one is passing away, this place made my family and I feel rushed. they showed zero compassion with the exception of three nurses the last two nurses that took care of my dad in his final moments and the morning supervising nurse jerallyn mei ( i might be spelling her name wrong) but those three nurses are the only 3 that treated us with compassion. Vivian and yolanda were very unprofessional during my father's last moments. We were given authorization to have the room to ourselves with our father and have as many family in there as needed to say our good byes,( we kept it 4 or 3 at a time) and yolanda kept trying to keep just two of us in the room even after the morning supervisor told her to allow as many of us in there to say our good byes. She was rude and needs to be coached on how to treat patients and their families. During the nurse shift swap, they ended up putting a new patient in the room with my dying dad which the nurse said they were not supposed to do. Once i said something about it they removed him to another room. Now vivian was showed zero empathy. The moment my father passed away, she told me to call the funeral place we made arrangements with to come pick up my father's body. My mom was on my phone (which contained the number for me to call) and i told her to plz give me 5 minutes to get the number for her, and she got annoyed and bothered and kept pushing me to give her the name of where my dad was going so she can get the number for me to call. My father did not even have 10 minutes of being gone for her to act that way. She seemed eager to have the room unoccupied. Over all the experience was very hurtful and unpleasant. I regret trusting this facility to provide care for my father for the way they behaved during his last...

Read moreMy wife, Norma, was here at Monterey Park Convalescent Hospital for 5 weeks after knee replacement revision surgery. She received the best and most caring treatment from all of the staff. Kudos to: administration (Rosemarie & Miss Bi) for their facilitation and easing our way in and through the system; supervisors (Geraldine & Danielle, etc.) and nurses (Bebe, Karina, Omar) for their professionalism and heartfelt kindness; physical therapy staff (Rosa, Priscilla, Brian, Tristan, Rob & Rowena) for their knowledge, patience and support. Thanks also to Paola, who brightens the place and to Norma, who supervises the kitchen's attention to detail and flavor. For anyone I left out, it is not intentional and I apologize. Thanks also to everyone for the laughs we shared! All of this added up to an experience that eased my mind and that I know has helped accelerate my wife's...
