Amazing Escape Room Montgomeryville — Attraction in Montgomery Township

On 12/9/23, I went to this Escape room with my teenage son and friends for the first time ever. It was an awful experience in "The Candy Shop" room. We were unable to solve the puzzle because the math was wrong in one of the clues. The cash register was programmed for an incorrect amount to open it up so we were stuck on that. Prior to the clues being incorrect, we were halfway through solving this but there was no way we would be able to do so without correct information. I know this is about the experience and not winning or losing but we didn't even have a chance at solving this room due to an error in mathematics. My teenage son thought this was so stupid because adults couldn't do addition. The employee working that night even checked the math and confirmed that there was an error on the part of the venue. He offered us a discount on our next attempt and we booked "The Lab" for Friday, 12/22 at 7:40 pm. However, only a 20% discount was offered, which in reality isn't a discount at all because Groupon has a deal for this location for 6 adults that costs less than what we are being charged for 5 adults and a 13 year old. The first time we went was last year and we were in the DaVinci room. The desk was broke. And when the knob was pulled it came off. At the end they showed us that is where a huge clue was and when we told them that the knob fell off they said oh sorry. It was also terrible trying to get clue. The second time we went was a few weeks ago. We were in the lab. We again had issues getting clues and some of the clue were for things we already did. The directional locks are horrible. At one point they just gave us the answer and it took my brother 7 tries to get the lock to pop. The scale on the room was off which then made our code off. The black box with two codes on it, half the box popped for a completely different number than it was supposed to. The icing on the cake is I emailed them complaining because the props should work properly. With the props broken, you’re doomed to not make it out. They offered me 20% off my next visit and didn’t say anything about the broken props. I emailed them again and explained why I was upset about the broken props and why I was hesitant to come back since 2/2 times the props have been broken and have never heard from them again. Katie was such a wonderful guide for our Space Themed escape room. She made the experience so much fun by remaining in character, answering all of our questions, annnd taking our photos at the end, while encouraging are most boring team members to dress up in costume for the photo!! Katie was simply amazing!!!!

—Additionally, the escape room was fun challenging, and we all had a great time working on the puzzles. There were six of us on the team. However, if we had 10— we would’ve been a little bit squished//claustrophobic.l, and possibly a few would’ve been a bit bored.

I recommend going with six or LESS for the Space Room. Not enough activities for 10 people to participate simultaneously, as each mission opens one new clue. So, really there were not enough tasks to complete with 10 people.

Six in our group was good. However, there were times a couple of us didn’t have stuff to do. So you could probably get away with doing The space room with five people.
