Good place to get indian groceries. Performs like every indian grocery shop should. But.
There are a few issues that I have noticed. They mix old vegetables with fresh vegetables with the hope that they will be able to dispose off old veggies along with the new ones. This is not good for the customer who comes around looking for fresh vegetables.
Another issue is that they do not detailed billing in all counters. After billing if the customer looks into the bill, there is no way of figuring out which each item costed. It will just say a few figures like 1- 2.42 2. 3.99. etc. The one counter that they have detailed billing they do not put a person there. So everytime I am I shop here, I have to ask someone from the store to come to the detailed billing counter and bill.
The main lady at the store is very courteous and nice. But the ladies are the billing counter are happy to see north indian people and have a bad attitude towards south indian people. I have notice this many times and even had arguments with her.
One day I asked for a extra carry bag since the first one ripped when she was putting items in. I dont know what she was busy with, but she took a cover and threw it on the counter and did not even bother to help me put the first bag inside the new one. I was there at the shop with my baby and would definitely have like some help. She was too busy printing the credit card receipt and asking me to sign it. That lady at the counter is pathetic.
If there were other indian stores nearby I would definitely choose to go to a different one, but since this is the closest, I'm forced to come to the store again, even though there are so many problems.
Food items are limited compare to the big patel store on the...
Read moreI needed Mother India card so I asked a new lady (i guess they must have hired recently) for 2 dollars one Mother India card, ( they usually have $2 one and $5 dollar one). she was struggling to get me a card so you all know BIREN, this woman who is always on the isle for any help, she came over and she opened the box and I saw she had $2 dollar one and $4 dollar one in the box and she thought I did not look into her box and she says to me "we only have $4 dollar one", I was SHOCKED for a second, I paused, then I said OK you can give me a $4 dollar one. BIREN gave me the card and I paid her with cash and then she left to take care of other customers, After she left I told that new lady who seen the whole situation I said to her, You knew there was a $2 dollar card and I knew there was a $2 dollar card, cause I literally saw the $2 dollar mother India card sitting in the box but she intentionally sold me a $4 one. I told the new lady to tell BIREN that what she did was against customer service and CHEATING. I am not going to the store rather I will stick to the new store that has recently opened BALAJI STORE. These people are such a Cheaters...
Read moreToday's experience that a family member had is indicative of our experiences over the last few years. Two of our family members went to buy some medicine and put it on the counter, while going to look for (buy) something else. When returning to the counter, it was gone and they were told someone put it back on the shelf. The counter person told my other family member to go get it, but she didn't know where it was. The employee didn't even offer to go bring it back or call someone to help her. -- Over the years, generally, this store has lacked the "warm, friendly" feeling you should get when interacting with employees. Some of the items are a little fresher than the nearby stores. But customer service here is NOT good, parts of the store are NOT as clean as they should be.
This is an honest review and should be taken as an opportunity to improve. Before, this store didn't have competition and it didn't matter what type of service they provided. You had no other choice.
They need to do a fully review of their operations and...
