My boyfriend and I have been coming to Hello Wings for about 2 years now ever since we moved to North Wales. The food has always been amazing, and it’s been one of our favorite local spots. However, I had a really disappointing experience today that made me feel differently about the customer service.
I placed a takeout order for around 12 wings (totaling over $40) and noticed there was only one small container of blue cheese in my bag. I politely asked the woman at the counter who I believe may have been the owner or manager if I could please get another side of blue cheese. She looked at the receipt and said, “You never ordered a side of blue cheese.” I explained that I understood, but I was simply asking if I could get another one. She then said, “$1.”
I told her I didn’t have cash but could pay by card. She gave me an annoyed look and eventually said, “That’s fine,” and let it go… but not in a friendly way.
I don’t normally leave reviews like this, but as a loyal customer for two years who has always recommended this place to others, the interaction really rubbed me the wrong way. It’s not about the dollar, it’s about customer service and how you treat regulars who genuinely support your business. A simple “Of course, here you go!” would have gone a long way in keeping a happy, loyal customer.
The food is still great, but I hope the staff can be a bit more mindful about how they handle small customer interactions like this.. it really does make...
Read moreHere is the unnecessarily in-depth and impassioned wing review you never wanted but never knew you needed. I recently moved to Bucks County from DC. Before that I lived in North Carolina and San Francisco. I’ve been many other cities. All told, I’ve eaten chicken wings at conservatively 500 restaurants across three continents. I am the Wing King.
After moving to Bucks, I set off to find my local wing joint. It is no exaggeration to say that I tried at least 12 places purported to have the “best wings” in the area. All were mostly horrible. The wings in and around Doylestown are mostly over-breaded, soggy, warmed-over inedible slop. Laziness has clearly soaked into the incumbents who are only too happy to suck money from overpaid consumers with no taste buds.
I was repeatedly disappointed.
Enter, Hello Wings. This place, with its parsimonious approach to branding (a lone, adorable chicken mascot suffices), reminded me of my favorite wing place in San Francisco. When served, I enjoyed a revelation. The wings were fresh and delicious — not the nasty, over-steroided birds I had been subjected to repeatedly at other establishments. They were crispy and sufficiently sauced - NOT soggy. In short, they were extraordinary.
The people who work here are also lovely and friendly.
This joint is Wing King approved. If you need me in your own search for wings, just shine my light into...
Read moreFirst tried Hello Wings on July 4th and have been back 2 more times in the passed 2 weeks. The wing choices and variety of sauces are fantastic. The boneless wings are really generous in size and are not price gouging for what you get. The service is extremely attentive and friendly...we are pretty particular about well done wings... The Korean fire boneless wings are better than any takeout you can get, just add rice. Now, what is usual a deal breaker is packaging. Hello Wings packages your wing and labels them in brown boxes with ample air flaps. You will not get gummy ruined wings. They hold their crunch integrity even after sitting in a hot oven waiting to be eaten. The same goes for the fries. They are covered but they take the time to put tiny air holes in the foil so your fries stay crispy. That makes this place an all around winner in my book. They care about the food...
