EDIT: Once we left our review, we were contacted by the regional director. He let us pick out other cushions they had in stock in the store at no cost to us. Now we finally have cushions! Thank you! This is the customer service we had been waiting for.
I don't normally take the time to write reviews. I write this in hopes it saves someone else their time and money. My husband and I have been waiting 8 MONTHS for our dining set cushions. This set is metal and uncomfortable without cushions. So now we have a nice expensive set we can't use. I can understand waiting a few months given the craziness the pandemic has caused. But 8 months? That's ridiculous. Don't offer cushions with a set if you can't actually supply them. I've asked many times for some sort of compensation for this inconvenience and the best they would offer was a small credit towards other cushions that wouldn't nearly cover the cost of all the cushions we need. We've had to call multiple times to ask where our cushions are only to be told time and again the expected date has been pushed back. We've called and left messages as well with no return call. During a conversation with the manager, I expressed our frustration, mind you I wasn't yelling or cursing, and he said he was going to hang up on me! What kind of professionalism is that? Now they're saying these cushions aren't coming till June. That's 9 MONTHS. So frustrated so aggravated. We called the customer service line who said someone will reach out to us in a few days and we never heard back. This is the worst customer service I've ever experienced. We will never shop here again and neither will our friends or family. Save yourself time, money, and aggravation,...
Read moreFortunoff backyard store is a "dangerous" place if you're looking to enhance your yard, patio or deck. I went there looking for a specific party table/server/bar for the deck. There are plenty of "bar" tables, but they are limited in providing alternate uses. Plus, I am somewhat limited in space. PLUS, I wanted to match existing deck furniture reasonably closely. Fortunoff's greatest strength is their wide selection of furniture styles, decor, accessories, and (I suppose) price points. I found 2-3 options that fit my needs. In fact, I bought a second server table/storage cabinet to create an outdoor kitchen/ dining/entertaining area that is flexible to my space requirements. The beauty of using furniture vs. an installed outdoor kitchen is you can move things around as needed. Service was very good-excellent. Kyle let me browse the store at my leisure, did not push anything, let me borrow a tape measure to check dimensions, and helped me move pieces around to examine them. Delivery was on time, courteous and just right. Fortunoff's one weakness is their prices. I was shopping for cast aluminum furniture, which is more expensive than other styles. But it is MUCH more expensive there. A free gift as part of an anniversary sale took some of the sting out. I was willing to pay to get EXACTLY what I was looking for. But like anything else, you need to shop around to find what you want at...
Read moreHere's what I appreciated most about my experience at the store: the salesperson (Doug) checked in with us to see what we were after, presented and explained the options, and left us alone to sit in them and discuss. He then came back later to ask if we had any questions. Didn't lurk. Didn't oversell. As we left without buying, because we wanted to explore other options, he gave us his card, a printout of the cost, and asked -- in a non-pressure way -- if there was anything he could do to convince us to buy now. We said we liked what we saw but wanted to see what else was out there since this was our first stop.
My wife and I got home and looked online at a wide variety of products from other stories and sites, and we couldn't find anything we liked better. I went in the next day and Doug wasn't in yet. The woman (Caroline) working the floor saw me go straight to the same set and, other than saying hello, didn't chase me as I looked again at the set I liked. After a few minutes, she came over and I explained I'd worked with someone the day before. Caroline explained that she didn't try to sell me because she noticed I knew exactly where I was heading (toward the furniture set I liked). She called Doug -- turns out he was the manager, which I did not realize -- and he came right back (was on break). He put together a fair deal and we got it done.
A good...
