June 23, 2024 On my way back to Norristown I stopped for Sushi at Ooka … I love this restaurant … the only thing I don’t love is the waitstaff forgets their tables once the food has been placed at the table … tonight I walked to the servers station to pour my own water refill after waiting 10 minutes for someone to notice my glass was empty … other than that this restaurant is stunning … everything is world class … I had Ana as a server again this week … yes … I did eat here last Sunday too … well … Shavuah Tov and LIVE LOVE LAUGH & THRIVE … 💙😎💙

June 16, 2024 Tonight I was driving back to Philly for my 7th week of treatments at Abramson Cancer Center for Stage 4 Cancer … I needed to eat some protein because as side affect of treatment I lost a lot of weight in a very short amount of time … I was greeted by several very nice hostesses and explained what I wanted but before being seated needed the restroom … when I got back to the hostess station they took me to a table all set up with two appetizers and all they said was this is to make your day a little better … then the manager, Vanessa stopped by and we had a delightful conversation … she had phenomenal rapport building skills and genuinely cared that I was okay … I asked for her recommendation for a protein and she suggested the Filet with Broccolini … that sounded good to me … since my appetite is off a filet made sense … done deal and Vanessa took my order and also brought me the greet tea I asked for … the Filet was cooked to perfection … being that it was served on a cast iron platter the steak remained warm throughout my meal … the Broccolini likewise was cooked perfectly … there was a side of rice and some Teriyaki Sauce … this was the perfect meal … I would not have changed a thing … I had a Cream Boule for dessert and called it a night … the food at this restaurant is exceptional and I will be back for sure … even better are the people that work as a team to ensure all is right for each guest … I observed this throughout my dining experience … so … 5 Stars it is with a promise to...

We stopped there for lunch yesterday, it was a Wednesday, and the restaurant was pretty empty. There were several waiters working the floor, though, so service was not a problem. Our server, Brad, he was very attentive, quick, and helpful. The restaurant decor is stylish and modern. The menus strive to be cool, too, but the menu paper is flimsy and cheaply assembled. We ordered 2 lunch specials: a beef teriyaki bento box and a maki set 2 lunch special. They both came with salad and soup. I also asked for tea which arrived on a cute rectangular porcelain tray. The tea itself, however, was from a tea bag. Cheap. The soup was barely warm, the miso paste was hearty and nicely salted. I wish there was more tofu and seaweed in the soup, though. The salad was fresh and crunchy, but the creamy ginger dressing tasted like mayonnaise mixed with a little bit of ginger, and there was so much of the dressing that the bottom part of the salad turned into a soup. Not good. I got three sushi rolls, and they were delicious. I loved them. My partner got the bento box where he asked for the teriyaki steak well done. The steak was still pinkish in the middle, but the sides were brown, and the entire steak was dry. The steak was only warm, not hot at all. The gyoza was yummy, though barely tepid in temperature; the vegetable tempura was nice and crunchy, though not hot by any means. The tempura sauce was imaginatively mixed with something that made the sauce have more texture than usual and not slide off the tempura vegetables. The California roll was more than palatable. The obsession cake was tiny, for $10 it is absolutely ridiculous. It was decent enough, but nothing spectacular, and definitely not worth the price tag. The alcohol menu was lovely, it had a nice variety and included curious esoteric liquors.

What a terrible dining experience for my son's birthday. Made a reservation for our group for hibachi. We sat promptly when we arrived but that ends the good service. It was one issue after another. We had a waitress come and take our initial drink order. Never saw her again for the rest of the night. Did she go home? A second waitress came 10 minutes later and had no idea we placed a drink order. Another issue is during our entire dinning experience, not one dish or glass was cleared from our table. We were running out of room as they brought more food and drinks. No one refilled our water glasses. They do appear to have bussers but they appeared to be just wondering around and not doing anything. Portion sizes are much smaller then their Doylestown location. Our hibachi chef put in a minimal effort and it appeared he was just trying to cook as fast as possible and get out of there. As we were more then half way done eating several of my guests did not get their rice orders. I had to walk around the restaurant to find our waitress. Unfortunately gratuity was added into our bill due to our party size or I would have left a 10% tip or less. They should be ashamed of themselves for providing that kind of service and adding gratuity. I am assuming that since their tip is guaranteed, the staff feels like they don't have to put in any effort. They do allow you to bring a cake, which we did, but we ended up taking it home to celebrate because this dining experience was so horrendous. I came to this location years ago and had terrible service so it appears nothing has changed. Is there a manager? If so, you may need a new one. We usually go to the Doylestown location but chose this one as it was more centrally located for our guests. I will never go to this location again!
