Here I am EDITING this post in May 2024. My eight year old daughter played here for almost an hour and not 24 hours after she had been there she developed some sort of eye infection with yellow and green discharge coming out of her eye and her eyelids swell up, so I took her to the pediatrician and got anabiotic drops for her eyes just in case… and The same evening she got the eye issue. She started having a fever of 100 to 101 and vomiting… And the only place we had been because of school being out was the splash pad… So, I really think that they need to up their chlorine in the water filtration process because , too many kids float around in the end of a slide that holds water like it is a pool and Lord knows what is floating off their bottoms and bodies and much more. That is naked to the human eye.
Old review :
We have been going to Little River Park for at least five years now and have always enjoyed going there. The only times we do not enjoy ourselves or when the capacity is over limits and there are way too many people to comfortably be in the space. I especially find it hard in the splash pad or pirate ship waterslide area of the park when it is over capacity. However, overall we always seem to have a blast here! Good job on the...
Read moreThere are pros and cons to this park!
Pros: it’s nice and love that the splash pad is fenced. Cute theme for pirate lovers and the kids love it.
Cons: Poorly managed bathroom. Piled up tampons and toilet paper, diapers in the women’s restroom I didn’t even dare try and pee or take my child in there. Nasty.
The big slide at the pirate splash pad is for feral children where they go down in groups of 4, not waiting nor caring that a young child had just gone down and hasn’t gotten out yet, and getting run over. I feel like I’m an unpaid life guard every time I go cause no other parents care. At least from my experience. I have to tell them when to wait and when to go and feel like I cannot enjoy my time and watching my son without worrying he’s going to get run down by the big kids. I’m even watching out for others little children from getting hit in the slide. I know it’s not my job to watch them and manage the slide as if I worked at a water park, but it gets crazy. I know that no one is going to hire someone to manage the slides but if they did it would help lol It makes me not want to go back. Overall it is fun though but maybe...
Read moreThis park is getting a little dangerous. The older kids come and completely take over the whole splash pad area and run over the little kids and take over the slides. There were teenaged kids controlling both slides and not letting any of the smaller kids use the slides, they had no parental surpervision clearly. Kids sit at the bottom of the slides and make it a swimming pool so everyone is slamming into each other and it’s a big mess. My toddler wouldn’t even leave the sitting area because she was so scared by all of the craziness. This park was a great idea in theory, but if you aren’t going to be able to staff the splash pads and supervise them, it’s only a matter of time before something bad happens and someone gets hurt. Plus the daycares come in and completely take over the whole area, which isn’t really fair to everyone else. They move your stuff off your table and everything and totally take over the whole place and go nuts, so I guess it’s nice for them. But there is a reason water parks have employees at the top and bottom of their slides. Time to hire some people...
