Good food, reasonable prices. (15-20 per for most options and a drink) hummus was very good, just got plain this time, garnished with garbanzos and olive oil. Good pita, cut and warmed. Greek salad was good- pretty standard, would have preferred kalamatas to the black they were using (one kalamata made it in the mix) was iceberg with greens, red onion, feta, cuke, green pep. pepperoncini, olives, basic greek style vinaigrette. Labaneh was fantastic, great creaminess, just the slightest hint of a cream cheese like flavor. Dolmas were pretty standard, grape leaves were nice & tender and their flavor came through perfectly. Falafel was great, cooked just right to be crisp on the outside and moist and flavorful on the inside, tahini served with them had good flavor. Turkish coffee was wonderful, not the most amazing I have had but great viscosity & intensity and a pleasant cardamom flavor. Brewed well, served in a clear mug so you could see how thick and dark it is. Mango juice was a good portion served in a frosted mug, good consistency and flavor. The kofta kebab was good, not exceptional in flavor, as expected, but nicely seasoned, nicely cooked. Beef kebab, touted as filet, was nice, had the leanness expected from filet, but wasn't the most tender- possibly because it was medium well to well- still a nice kebab. The chicken was the best flavored of the kebabs, cooked very nicely, so it was not dry, and pleasantly seasoned, strong as you bite in and leveling out just right as you get to the unseasoned middle. The vermicelli rice was basic but not bland, worked well in conjunction with the rest of the platter. Baklava was rolled instead of layered, made for easy eating, but as a result was a bit dry, and lacking honey, but still good. The Lebanese pudding was a star. A firm rice pudding topped with fresh whipped cream, crushed pistachios, and rose water. The pudding was pretty good, but simple; the rose water elevated the whole dessert to an experience. Rose water comes on strong, and can be over-powering if you are unprepared, but it keeps you coming back for more. A pleasant sweetness and a permeating aromatic floral essence fill up your senses in a way John Denver would want to sing about. There was a mistake with our order, and it was handled very well. Server was sincerely polite, replaced the erroneous item, and we were comped our dessert. It don't imagine it hurt that we had a fairly large check already, but how well errors are handled is a critical quality indicator, and they...
Read moreWe were the only customers, so I'd have expected better service. Dishes piled up on our table like the Leaning Tower of Pisa, yet no one noticed, no one took them away. Tea, which was stale, was not refilled in a timely manner. I mean, again, we're the only customers in the restaurant. What on Earth was the waitstaff up to, cuz it certainly wasn't being friendly to or waiting on us.
My husband had roasted half chicken. Good portion, good flavor, but REALLY dry. I mean PARCHED. We're talkin, fresh out of the Sahara. I had falafel. I have eaten lots of falafel because I don't eat red meat, and frankly, it's hard to get it wrong. When it's this bad, I can only think that it was old, and reheated for my sandwich. Again, too dry. The pita with melted cheese that we ordered was good, though. But not enough to cause us to be so distracted that we didn't see the owner come in. He mosied in, oblivious to us, had repairs going on. Didn't greet us. I don't think he cared if we were there or not.
Late afternoon there must mean dry lunch leftovers. We were really excited to go, too, as we love Mediterranean food. This was a bad choice. We won't return. Usually, I'm polite and don't complain, but this was just totally unpleasant. No one greeted us when we arrived, no one thanked us when we left, no one asked about the quality of food, and no one will ever see us there again.
There is a superb Mediterranean restaurant on S.Western that we frequent now called Alexandria. That's your best bet in the Moore/Southwest...
Read moreThis place had amazing food. Everything was presented beautiful and cooked perfectly. The service was lacking in almost every way. I do not know the server’s name but it was 7:00pm on 3/27. I have horrible anxiety as is, and i was ignored not once but TWICE. Every single other person at my table ordered their drinks without an issue and she tried to walk away and I had to speak up to say “can i just have a water?” and then she went “oh sorry”. Next comes the orders, i ordered FIRST. 35-40 minutes later she finally brings orders around to the table. I’m patient and watching everyone get theirs. But not me. She leaves the table entirely. Instead of coming back to correct her own mistake, she sent a whole other girl to deal with it. Then, they finally rung in my food. I got up and started crying because of my anxiety about the situation and now i’m angry and hungry. While I was in the bathroom, she snuck a basket of fries to my spot. Again, instead of owning the mistake, she decided to act like I was not there repeatedly. My food then came out a good 20 minutes later (60+ minutes in total). The food is great and if I have a different server and better experience I would eat here again. Please do better and do not make people feel like they are invisible while you giggle in the kitchen about me crying at the table because of...
