Not the place for fine jewelry repairs. Zero attention to detail!
I truly hate to write a bad review for a small business. But in this case I would strongly warn against having any jewelry of value repaired at this shop. This week I took my 100+ year-old platinum engagement ring here to have a crack fixed that had split the back of the delicate band. When I went to the shop today to pick up my ring I first noticed a distinct swoop in the band at the back of the ring, it was not straight. Upon further inspection I noticed that the crack that was to be repaired could still be visibly seen in the ring on one side. Finally, when looking at the ring from the side it was evident that the ring was no longer perfectly round it had a slight protrusion at the back.
When I showed it to the jeweler he said yes because you have sizing balls on your band I couldnât put it on the tool I would normally use to make it perfectly round, if youâd like I can try to adjust it for you now with pliers. At this point I realized that he really didnât have any intention (or ability?) to take the time to fix my ring properly, and I didnât want him to damage it further
I think a good jeweler would have removed the sizing balls, fixed the problem and then reapplied the sizing balls. To me this was kind of like saying I couldnât clean that rug the right way because your couch was on it. Really half-baked work in my opinion.
At that point it was clear that I was going to need to take my ring elsewhere to have this repair done properly. I had no intention of letting this man touch my ring again given his solution was to work the metal cold with a pair of pliers. Iâm no jeweler but that doesnât seem like something that a skilled craftsman would do. Heck I could do that myself at home.
I took pictures of my ring with every intention of posting them here so that people could see for themselves the type of work that was done at Signature Jewelers. I donât see that Google allows me to do that. So I suppose youâll have to take my word for it.
I will say that the staff was very nice and pleasant to me, and they are probably just fine for purchasing a new piece of jewelry. I just wouldnât have any skilled...
Read moreI took some jewelry in for repair. A man, who I believe is the owner, helped us when we took the pieces in. The work took somewhat longer than he said which was not a problem. One issue is that the pieces were to be fixed and cleaned. One piece turned out great, the other was not cleaned to my satisfaction as they are a pair now they do not match. When I asked to have it cleaned better, he made a vague swipe at it and handed it back without a word. It did not fix the problem and in fact my husband had to clean off the smear he made on the piece with his shirt. Another issue, he made me feel uncomfortable being in the store. I do not think this man wanted my business or appreciated it. He could not be bothered to speak even though he walked right in front of me. Long story short, I think if you are one of his upscale clients you will be treated well. If you are not, then you should find another jewelry store as I will be doing in the future. The young lady who took my money was very nice and appeared to be embarrassed by...
Read moreI had a mothers/grandmothers ring made for my wife. I worked with Chris and my experience was amazing. He was able to make a ring exactly how I wanted it. At first I was a bit nervous as I did all of this over the phone, but that was not a problem at all. Chris took care of everything after I decided from a design he sent to me. Also he even delivered it to me as im a shut-in and do not drive. This was the most professional transaction ive had in a long long time. I highly recommend Signature Jewelers and Chris for any of your jewelry needs. I am very satisfied with every asect of this experience. Thank You Signature Jewelers My wife's reaction when she saw the ring let me know that I had made the right decision by having Chris make this for me, she absolutely...
