Ralph’s MOST expensive? I might have been wrong.I went to Moorpark Produce today and was astounded that a pineapple was about $6-1/2 and BANANAS were a DOLLAR A POUND! When I was in Ralph’s this week, I didn’t buy some of my favorites because of the gouge prices. I think the bananas were 80¢ / lb and I balked at the $4 pineapple.
But when I went into Moorpark Produce I couldn’t believe the SUPER GOUGE prices. I needed some milk, and DID NOT SEE a price tag. Like a percentage of us, I did not look at the price before I casually (habitually) used my phone to pay electronically. When I got home, I noticed that a half gallon was FIVE CLAMS. Thats about 2.8 times Ralph’s price for the half gallon. I could have bought Ralph’s FULL GALLON for only $4. I felt like such an idiot for not checking the price. I would have left the milk right at the check stand. Not worth the effort to go return the unopened container. But I DID call them and let them know why I’m not going back there.
Price gouging may bring some more profits, but I feel in the long run creates a loss of customers and wasted food, from what doesn’t sell. The store should be embarrassed. GUESS WHERE I’M...
