I want to start out by saying the delivery guys were FANTASTIC. Regarding everyone else involved, read on...
Started out well. Hired for 2 major jobs: refurbishing/repair of two leather sofas and installation of laminate flooring in living room and dining room. Everyone showed up on time, and the work was begun. It all went south from there.
The floor guy never finished the job - quarter round pieces in front of entertainment center and sliding glass door were not installed. He said he would be back on a Wednesday and never showed up. He did not respond to multiple phone calls. Scott (main contact) insisted this has never happened before and maybe something tragic happened to him, like an accident. Ha! He's fine. I find it hard to believe that this has never happened before. Scott had the nerve to say he isn't responsible if the workmen do not show up. Seriously???? He is the one that sends the workmen to you! You do not have a choice! Scott then said he would handle the situation, but it was never mentioned again. We ended up hiring someone else to finish the flooring.
The couches were promised in 2-3 weeks. They were finished a week late. The couches then had to be immediately returned upon delivery as the job was clearly not completed. Scott stated that the couch repairmen said they knew the couches were not done well, but we wanted them back, so they sent them to us. Basically, Scott implied it was our fault the job was subpar because we inquired about our own couches after 3 weeks, which was the timeline initially promised to us. Yes, we wanted the couches back, but not poorly done. They were redelivered another week later, and were STILL incomplete. Plus, there was an additional scratch that was not there before. Scott was quick to blame the drivers and wanted to take the couches back AGAIN to "make good on the work." At this point, we gave up and just kept the couches. We needed to be done with these people. Do not be sucked in by the promises of "excellent craftsmanship" and "no final payment until you are completely satisfied" ....all lies. I would not recommend this...
Read moreThe chair was delivered to California Upholstery in late April for arm repair and reupholster for a time sensitive design project. The Woman I delt with was Corinne, she sent me images of leather, but I only wanted to see in stock to due time requirements, I selected a leather because she stated it was in stock and the chair could be done quickly. Early July I emailed Corinne asking about the nail head color that still needed to be selected and she after a few requests still had not sent a selection for me to choose from. At that time, she stated that she still had not received the "in stock leather" and I was flying in to do a full interior install and I had no chair because Corinne didn't bother to keep track of the leather order or keep the designer informed there was a delay. I ordered a few high-end leathers myself and they arrived in a week they were delivered by currier to the upholstery shop where they sat for weeks untouched. I called again to check progress and was told they had not started yet. At that point I lost it with Corinne she refused to respond so I spoke with the shop and expressed my deep dissatisfaction with Corinne having our chair for over 4 months and no progress, Corinne emailed the client to complain that I was rude and pushing her and she decided to cancel the job and refund the deposit $1306.30 given on 5/13 and in her text message she said accounting department would refund my client. After I filed a Better Business Bureau complaint against the company trying to Get the deposit returned my client received a phone call from a male member of the staff Claiming they had just spoken to me And I had disputed the entire Story above. As with many other review complaints we are still waiting on the accounting department. I have been in the interior design business for over 30 years with multiple high-end showrooms and this is the worst upholstery shop I have ever seen and would never recommend them especially working with Corinne the one who kept dropping the ball. The above statement was filed to the Better Businee're still waiting...
Read moreMy worst nightmare when I got my Mercedez CLK350 back after a convertible top installation done at their Moorpark, CA location. Andrew assured me that he had the best installer work on my car later to find that this guy is his only installer who was clueless on what he was doing. The top was not centered & my hood lining was attached to the top was all disconnected. There were satraps that were not attached that were just dangling. They did some wired rivets to hold the tension cables which I know Mercedez would never do on their cars. I can’t even open my top because the top does not folds in place at the back window. Last week with the rain I was so afraid I’d have water inside my car. Andrew asked me to bring the car back to have all this corrected but knowing the one & only installer he has I didn’t want to take it back & make things worse for me. Now I’m looking for another installer to try & correct my nightmare. What ever you do never ever ever have convertible tops done through their Moorpark location. Apparently this installer is this only installer for all locations in the Los Angeles area. Please do not use these guys, I guarantee you will be disappointed & end up paying 3 times more for the top & expected with having to...
