Not very welcoming. Not dog friendly. When I arrived it was 1 pm and 90 degrees F and about 120 degrees on their concrete parking lot and wood walkway. I carried my 20 lb dog to the door so he wouldn't burn his paws. The doors were locked with a number posted to call. At that point a woman came from the parking lot with her fast food lunch in her hand and from a distance informed me that I could not take the dog inside. I looked right, then left but there was ZERO shade anywhere. As she got closer she asked "Did you hear me? You can't take the dog in". There were no signs stating such and I wasn't asked whether he was a service dog. There was not another person around. She asked if I was there to use the bathroom. I told her I was there for information on the local area as well as local dining options and accommodations. She was about to hand me a brochure from the outside brochure holder. I told her never mind, I would drive to the next county to spend my money. And I did exactly that.

This visitor center features some excellent exhibits that are fun and informative. The staff is some of the friendliest and informative folks you will ever meet. The location is beautiful and easy to get to and to get back to the highway. Swamp surrounds the center on three sides and features gorgeous views. I highly recommend stopping by this place for coffee, conversation, and information on the...

Awesome stop for homeschooling or roadschooling families. The 2 people working for awesome. The kids did a scavenger hunt and found all the flora and fauna. They received coloring books in exchange for their completed hunts. They are excited to learn more about the local wildlife through their new books! We...
