I’ve had the pleasure of visiting The Anatomy of Death Museum many times and I must say, it was an experience that will haunt me forever - in the BEST possible way! As a long-time enthusiast of the mystical & macabre, I was blown away by the museum's vast collection of artifacts and exhibits that delved into the mysteries of mortality.
From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was enveloped in a spooky atmosphere that perfectly complemented the exhibits. The dim lighting, eerie sounds, and old specimens created an immersive experience that transported me to a realm of morbid curiosity.
Each exhibit is meticulously curated to showcase the fascinating and unsettling aspects of death. I found myself captivated by the intricate details and the stories behind each piece, which only added to the sense of wonder and unease.
What truly sets The Anatomy of Death Museum apart, however, is its ability to balance entertainment & education. I left with a newfound appreciation for the science and history surrounding death, as well as a lingering sense of excitement and awe.

Read moreThis place is crazy amazing! As an unashamed fanatic, I was totally PSYCHED with the experience from start to finish. There were items from the garish(sooooo many skulls and funeral home memorabilia) to the downright heartwarming to the Goth-at-heart(adorable pink casket slippers that promise both softness and stretch). Curator Todd is a Cryptkeeper in his own right who will encourage you to test the scratch-and-sniff body bags. For those wondering about the price, you will not find a better use of ten dollars in the area of thanatology; come dressed light and leave all unwieldy items in the car. The museum area is extremely small but packed FULL as far as the eye can see. An additional caveat; there are TVs showing legitimate autopsy footage in the back.. if you are squeamish to that type of procedure, look down, but still watch your step!!The gift shop is full of lovely items from taxidermized bats to local grown artwork, t-shirts to coffin purses. If you haven't gone, I dare you to try and hurry in before I make it back.. I...
Read moreFascinated with science and the human body, mixed with weird oddities then this one’s for you!! Enjoy. Yesterday was another mother son date day, Caleb has a geyser meter that he wanted to bring with him to antique shops to see if he can find anything that was radioactive. (Yep we are into the wild and weird 😉). We found an antique shop in Mount Clemens, Michigan. And behold the shop had a back room Anatomy Of Death Museum. Which dives deep into the fascinating world of human anatomy and the history of the funeral industry. We got to explore Victorian embalming techniques, antique coffins, caskets, and an array of death-related artifacts. As well as displays of three authentic Victorian horse-drawn hearses. They also had an oddities shop, where you could find unique and different gifts. The Anatomy of Death Museum delivered a chilling (literally I was shaking) yet enlightening experience. Highly recommend if you’re into that kind...
