From the moment my girlfriend Chelsea and I stepped into Mi Pueblo's Express, we knew we were in for a treat. This family-owned gem in Mount Clemens, Michigan, offers an authentic Mexican dining experience that's hard to find anywhere else.
We decided to indulge in the Mi Pueblo Express Bowl with some customizations, and it was nothing short of spectacular. The flavors were perfectly balanced, the ingredients fresh, and the presentation was on point. Alongside, we ordered the Steak Quesadilla Dinner Express, which was a masterpiece of gooey cheese and tender, flavorful steak encased in a crispy tortilla.
To complement our meal, we opted for two lime margaritas, which were expertly mixed and incredibly refreshing. But what truly set our experience apart was the extra shot on the side, served in shot glasses with a salt rim and a lime wedge - a delightful touch that showcased the attention to detail and care the staff puts into every aspect of the dining experience.
The service at Mi Pueblo's Express was impeccable. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel like part of the family. It's evident that this restaurant values not just the quality of their food, but also the satisfaction of their customers.
If you're in Mount Clemens and looking for an unforgettable Mexican dining experience, look no further than Mi Pueblo's Express. Whether it's the mouth-watering dishes, the superb drinks, or the warm and welcoming atmosphere, this place has it all. We can't wait to return and explore more of their menu. Mi Pueblo's Express is not just a restaurant; it's a culinary journey that everyone...
Read moreWe adore Mexican food and were very excited to swoop into Mi Pueblo Express when this place was finally able to open.
After several takeouts:
The food is pretty good, though they don't do chiles rellenos, my favorite.
It is often difficult to impossible to get through on the phone.
The nickeling and diming. My God. We get that restaurant prices needed to go up during and after the pandemic, but DANG. Ordered a large guac...was shocked to open a chipless bag. They charge for chips, even with an $8 order of guac, even with several $15 entrees. They also charge for salsa. Seriously-you have to order both separately, to the tune of $6. When you order online, which is usually a must due to the non-answering of phones, the prices are misleading. Your meal will be listed for one price, but many ingredients which are basic at most places are upcharged add-ons here, and it's RIDICULOUS. Cheese? Onions? SAUCE in some cases? Gotta pay more! Any choice of meat costs more! Their shrimp quesadillas are tasty, but it's $8.70 extra to add a few shrimp to the lower half of three smallish ones. The top halves of the quesadillas are flat together, fillingless. Fish is a $7.20 add-on. Beans are the same upcharge as any basic meat at $4.20 extra. How? Why?
Next they're gonna charge for parking. And bags. And the staples they use to attach your receipt to the bags. Oops-they forgot to charge for the receipt paper! What about the ink? And wait-customers breathe perfectly good air while waiting for their food!
We're gonna go...
Read moreI love Mi Pueblo and have been eating at the Detroit location for ten years. It’s one of my favorite restaurants. Unfortunately I don’t think I can support Mi Pueblo anymore after our last visit. $35 for four tiny tacos with no sides, a shrimp burrito with rice and beans, and a fountain drink. Mexican food has a reputation for being affordable because it’s cheap to prepare and serve large batches. I’m a former Taquero and spend a couple weeks in Mexico every year, exclusively eating street food. There’s simply no justification for charging $35 for what barely fed my girlfriend and I last night. $30 would’ve been outrageous as it was, let alone 35. She asked if there was an upcharge for the shrimp and the cashier said no. My girlfriend said, “It doesn’t cost extra?” No. Then I got the bill and paid, shocked at how much it was. My gf points out that we were charged $5 extra for shrimp and asks if we can cancel it and get another meat choice. No; they already started it.
Okay well guess what? I make awesome Mexican food too, and can furnish a few antojitos style items to myself or someone else for about 10-20% of what Mi Pueblo wants, so I think we’re done. The greedflation is just out of control. Don’t tell me this is about covid or a ship getting stuck in a channel on the other side of the world. It’s greed. Mi Pueblo is going to keep giving you less and charging you more. Learn some recipes. Make...
