0 stars is more accurate, I want to just let all customers be aware of my horror story from this store. I wanted to simply know the carat weight of a Tanzanite that was in their store. The customer reps told me that "Colored gemstones aren't sold by carat weight." This information couldn't be farthest from the truth. Every stone including colored gemstones should always have a carat weight disclosed. Even the slightest difference in weight could really determine the true value of the gemstone. Since each stones proportions may be cut different, knowing the millimeter measurement which is what they told me is how they determine the price doesn't help when you want to know what your buying. I then called the corporate number and explained the situation to them. They told me that the store was correct in saying that and that the vendor doesn't provide them with the carat weight in the specifications of the piece. However if I wanted to get a piece in the future they could reach out to the vendor to see what the carat weight is. But this answer now brings me to my next concern... I wanted to know the weight of that specific piece, so to measure the weight they would then have to remove the stone just to weigh it and then let me know the number. At that point I'm sure I would be charged some fee especially if I didn't end up wanting it. Which is something that should always be disclosed when buying. I shutter to think what the response would have been if I asked what the weight of the accents were. On to my next issue with this store, They had one natural piece in their colored stones all others were lab created and labeled with a sign saying "natural & Lab created." I only want to buy natural rubies, sapphires, and emeralds, and couldn't find a single one in the store, other then a tiny ruby necklace. They are very over priced for any of the diamonds they have and are not good quality diamonds. Don't waist your money here for something that isn't quality. (I) Quality is very low on the diamond grading scale. Don't be surprised when looking if you see the sales people eating or just playing around not taking things seriously. Also don't let them act like they know more then you just because they work for the company and took a week or two training course, and act like they are graduate gemologists because they aren't aware of anything in the gem world that's actually correct. They showed me a Le vian jewelry set that had earrings, a ring, and necklace that was a London blue topaz and diamond accents set in gold. The set was beautiful, however they charged $30,000 for the set. (FYI london blue topaz that's around the size they had you can get for $50.00 all day long.) As far as the small diamond accents you could hardly see, and then you add in the price of the gold. I would say that its no more then $800.00 to $1,000.00 value not $30,000. Well lets just say you can see how much they mark things up just to make the customers that have no idea what they are buying over pay. Your better off staying home and shopping from your TV to get the same quality they sell or even better and fractions of the cost. The only good thing about the trip was that they cleaned my jewelry, which really didn't phase me since my diamond ring I had on I just got yesterday. So it wasn't even dirty but i'll never turn down a free cleaning! Needless to say stay away from Kays go anywhere else but here. I will never be back, or give...
Read moreI purchased a ring in February of 2023 with the "Forever Cherished Lifetime Protection." I went to this location a few months ago and was told the ring I purchased was made of a material that couldn't be resized. I followed their recommendation by buying the same ring in the right size when the price was low. Today I went in and Allison was very inconcise with her information and didn't seem to know what she was doing. After 30 minutes of back and forth, she accused me of yelling at her when truly she was just becoming frustrated and frankly unprofessional. The manager, Connor, did help some but didn't keep his employee from continuing to be agitated rather than taking the situation over entirely. As I exited the store, another employee rudely told me to have a blessed day. It is very rude to use the religion to shame someone, and the amount of unprofessionalism in this store is thick. Connor should get his employees' customer service classes! Two stars because my initial experience with Kay's and Connor was good, and my fiance...
Read moreI have really gotten a horrible deal through all of the dealings with Kay jewelers. Their floor manager should not be selling 'rings' that Kay's cannot deliver on. (that happened) The floor manager should communicate more clearly as of the realities of what a customer might be interested in, if it isn't going to work right, it is better to be honest. (didn't happen) The floor manager should notify customers of delays, complications, everything that is happening with their ring outside of the expectations that the customer knows about. (never happened) I can't really explain how effected by this entire situation I am because of dishonesty in order to make a sale by the floor manager. I have spent more than a month and a half since being engaged trying to 'fix' the ring and won't have a finished ring by my wedding now. I am hurt by the decisions a Kay's 'Gemologist' and Floor Manager made and that isn't ok...
