Montezuma Jewelers — Local services in Muncie

I went in to Montezuma Jewelers today searching for a new watch. There was only one person in the store, presumably the owner, although he did not introduce himself. I was immediately impressed by their selection of watches. Not once did the man working offer to show me anything, nor did he engage in conversation with me in any capacity. I selected a watch that I wanted to see and he got it out of the case for me. I then asked him several questions about the watch and he did not know the answer to any of them. Worse still, he did not offer to find the information that I requested or look for the answers to my questions in any way. I then asked him the price of the watch, and to my shock, he wouldn't tell me. He simply stated that "we could talk about it if I wanted to buy it". Why would I ask if I wasn't interested in the piece? Anyway, I continued to look at the watch and see for myself if I could answer any of my questions by examining the watch closely for myself. When I started touching the crown of the watch, the owner snapped at me and told me "not to play with it." Excuse me? I own several nice watches and am very well versed in horological knowledge, which I explained to the owner. At that point I had enough. I gave the watch back and quietly left. My recommendation is not to do business with Montezuma, not only were they unprofessional and downright rude, but their knowledge of their own inventory was almost non-existent. Take your business elsewhere and avoid Montezuma Jewelers...

I truly cannot put into words the beauty and time that was put into the ring I purchased for my fiancée. I catch her constantly looking down at the ring and just marveling in how it sparkles. The ring and wedding band are a one of a kind design. The band sparkles just as much as the engagement ring and I myself absolutely love vintage style rings while my fiancée loves more modern style rings. This set combines both our styles and he was even able to melt down one of my grandmother’s rings and put it into the set. My grandmother passed away two years ago and we were very close, so to be able to include her in this design meant the world to me. David is wonderful! He also burned engravings into the wooden ring box I had purchased and everything turned out perfect. I could not be happier with my decision to go to Montezuma. If you are on the fence about a jeweler, please at least check out his shop. He is more than fair, truly cares about the piece he is making, possibly more than even the purchaser. He definitely takes the time to create a one of kind masterpiece for your big day! I would and will purchase from him again. 10/10 recommend...

Went to Montezuma in need of a ring repair for a small crack in my wedding ring wrap and the service was spectacular. The service is quick, staff is nice. The gentleman assisting me was very knowledgeable and is definitely an expert at his craft. He went above and beyond to try and make my request a success. Going with a custom jeweler in my case worked out because I had requested that he resize the wrap as well to fit another ring that I had purchased the wrap for. He did an amazing job. Had to drop the ring off but after a super reasonable price was able to walk away a fully satisfied customer and in my opinion the ring wrap looks better than I bought it and walked away with both rings nestled happily together and with knowledge that will last forever.
