Now, the first half of this is going to read like a negative review - but I'm so enamored by the way they handled a bad situation that I have to give these folks five stars.
A couple years back, I purchased an item from Phoenix Fire Games that I was definitely not satisfied with. It was a Games Workshop painting table thing, for $40 - which I had (foolishly) thought contained the paints, brushes, etc. shown on the box because.
I went in to return the product, but was told that any items that were out of the box were nonreturnable. I was fairly upset, and left in a huff.
About a week later I got a call, letting me know that some merchandise had come in with some minor damage - and that if I wanted, I could come pick it up for free. It included some of the items I had expected would be in the box I had purchased. Furthermore, when I came to pick it up, the mother of one of the employee's was manning the counter because of some scheduling thing - she'd never seen me before - but when I walked in she pleasantly greeted me by my name and handed me the items.
That was really nice, and they certainly didn't have to do that - and you've got to appreciate a business that goes to these lengths to ensure...
Read moreI have bought A LOT of MTG product from this store. I usually am okay with my purchases. They are a high priced store, but I like to support the local LGS and I figure I am paying for convenience. I have dealt with the owner on a few occasions and have left feeling a little cringy when dealing with him. Today I went to buy a box of Magic, as I do pretty regularly here, and the owner was behind the counter. I asked for a set booster box of an out of print set. Normally these are cheaper then the play booster boxes, but today, apparently, they are much more expensive. A box of what I was looking to purchase is in the $110 to $140 range on ebay. The owner wanted to charge me $222 and change, stating that they are so expensive because they are out of print. I have never been charged that much by his employees, and they have never said such a b.s. reason. Maybe use some caution when trying to make a purchase from here. Do some checking on prices before hand. The owner is trying to take full...

Edit: went in again recently with a friend who wanted to buy a couple things and play some cards on their tables. While I waited for my friend, I sat at a table with my cards and watched a couple videos on my phone. An employee approached me and informed me: "no videos allowed in here". At first I thought he thought I was recording a video, but no, he meant I can't watch videos on my phone while waiting for my friend to buy stuff from their store. I was polite to the employee about it, and the employee was polite to me, and he informed me this rule is in place to keep people from sitting at tables while on their phones instead of playing games. Pretty dumb rule though because I had a giant box of cards in front of me that I shortly after played a few games. If you want a place with lots of dumb rules, this infinite heroes might be for you. If not, try phoenix fire or...
