Had a bad day at work, decided to go out to eat and have a good time. I'm kind of new to Nampa area, and I heard about this place being a very nice spot.
Out of the places I've reviewed so far, this one is THE BEST place I've eaten at. From the food, to the service, to the atmosphere & vibe, this place is amazing.
To start off, my party of 3 came in around 3:30PM, got seated immediately right next to a window. If you can, make sure you ask to sit next to the windows. This place is on the 3rd story of a building, so the view is pretty cool! You're able to see the snow covered mountains in the distance! The interior is modern, nicely lit, and clean. Bathrooms are REAL NICE ;)
We found out that happy hour starts at 4PM, but we were real hungry, so decided to order off their regular menu. We ordered the Mac & Cheese entree, the Flat Iron Steak entree, and the Tenderloin Cobb Salad (I attached all the pics to this review for you guys to look at and get hungry). Everything came out real fresh and delicious, absolutely no complaints at all. The steak wasn't as big and juicy as you get at Texas Roadhouse, but the overall presentation & taste was good & unique. The sauce that it came with was tasty.
After we finished that, it was already time for Happy Hour. We placed another order, this time for the B29 Fries w/ Bacon, Mac & Cheese (Happy Hour portion is half the size of the regular, but same amazing taste), B29 Mule, glass of wine, Black Widow, and for dessert, Creme Brulee. The food was fresh, drinks were refreshing. Honestly, I have absolutely no criticism for this place.
The B29 fries w/ bacon were so good, I just HAD to dedicate a small paragraph on it. The fries were hot, crispy, and the garlic and little green onions were perfect. There's some kind of sauce that's drizzled on the fries, and that sauce is a must, trust me fam.
Our waitress, Keesha, was friendly, very nice and polite. There was another woman who was stopping by our table as well, perhaps the owner or manager, just checking up on things, and she was very nice & polite as well. I always wonder how people manage to be happy and friendly all the time, but she was joking with us, and I really felt comfortable there. This is the best place I've reviewed so far, and overtakes my love for Moe Joe's in Meridian. Although Moe Joe's is a breakfast place, and Brick 29 isn't, the overall package beats out Moe Joe's, in terms of taste, presentation, service, and atmosphere. And y'all already KNOW how much I love Moe Joe's (go read my other review, and if you haven't eaten there, close this review down and head there ASAP).
Now, for the recommendations, if this is your first time here and you're trying to ball on a budget, come here during happy hour and order the B29 fries w/ bacon, as well as the mac & cheese. Then, if you're still hungry, you can order an entree, I'd really recommend the Tenderloin Cobb Salad, that thing was amazing, and for the price it was a very good value, IMO. Out of the drinks, the B29 was my favorite, but honestly, you can't go wrong with anything here.
Overall, as a complete package, this place is A1. The food, the atmosphere, the way the bathrooms are (yes, the bathrooms were so clean and modern I had to mention them TWICE), the fact that it's on a 3rd story of a building, and the service was probably one of the best packages I've experienced. YOU BETTER BELIEVE I'LL BE COMING BACK. If you're visiting Nampa, I would consider this place...
Read moreLocated in the heart of downtown Nampa, Brick 29 delivers it all. Cozy atmosphere, tasty food and an enjoyable view. As well as fabulous mimosas! I’ll start with the good -
The service was great. Our waitress was super nice and very patient. It took me a while to decide what I wanted. I think she came back 3 times before I finally made a decision. I finally decided I’d follow my mother into ordering the chicken apple salad (broiled chicken, butter leaf Lettuce, granny smith apples, grape tomatoes, gorgonzola blue cheese, crispy onions, candied walnuts and walnut vinaigrette, $13.00). We ordered mimosas while we waited (forgot the prices, sorry). While they were tasty I was hoping there’d be a little more kick. It tasted more like just orange juice.
Then the salad came and WOAH. What a salad! First off all, it was ginormous. Second, there was so much of everything. It tasted absolutely delicious and filled me up for the entire day! The crispy onions on the top had to be my favorite part! All the ingredients were very fresh. The walnut vinaigrette was a little different than anything I’d ever had. It was kind of tasteless, I’m not sure I would have even noticed if it was missing. Regardless single bite was wonderful. I would definitely order this again.
The bill for 2 salads and 3 mimosas came out to be around $55.00 which I found to be very reasonable for the atmosphere and quality of food. I will definitely be returning to try some other menu items!
Update: 08/26/2022
Never, I repeat, NEVER have I not had an outstanding dining experience at Brick 29. Everything aligns wit my idea of a perfect restaurant. In fact, Brick 29 is my favorite restaurant in the entire Treasure Valley.
On a recent visit I decided to go for the most exotic-sounding item on the menu which I decided was the Rhubarb Grilled Cheese (Brie cheese, mozzarella, scallions, Swiss fondue and rhubarb chutney on garlic toasted sourdough, $11.00) with a side salad. The second I saw the sandwich I knew it was going to be delish! Hot, rich cheese oozing with gorgeous red striping from the rhubarb. It was such a unique combination of flavors that blended extremely well together. Unlike anything I have ever had before and I loved every single bite. I ended up ordering a second to take home for my husband to try because I was so impressed.
For drinks I tried the Huckleberry Martini (Koenig Huckleberry vodka, lemon juice, cranberry and Grenadine, $9.75) while my mother enjoyed a Basil Lemon Drop (vodka, triple sec, lemon juice and fresh basil, $8.50). We both loved our choices! The Huckleberry Martina was very beautifully presented and there was just the right amount of vodka.
Cheers to another fabulous experience at Brick 29 and cheers to many...
Read moreWe really shouldn’t wait to visit Brick 29 for special occasions only, it’s too special to hold off to just once in a while. My wife had the Lemon Drop Martini, $10 and I had a Manhattan for $11. But they have plenty of other specialty cocktails to choose from. We ordered the Mushroom Bisque soup and seasonal Pumpkin Bisque finished with maple crème fraiche and pepitas. Next, the Bacon Brussel Sprouts appetizer is outstanding with the contrast of the vegetables and a sweet brown and Dijon mustard sauce. The vegetables were so tender, I’m guessing that they were blanched first then finished off in a sauté pan or oven roasted. The Bistro Chicken is served with a classic mushroom shallot, bourbon & cream sauce and house made mashed potatoes for $17, or substitute polenta for $3 more. This is one we always enjoy, glad they have this choice on the menu for so many years. Brick 29’s cheeseburger with Double R Ranch meat at $16 includes crispy light golden fries and a choice of cheese (picked Havarti instead of the usual cheddar) with jalapeno aioli, and additional options are mushrooms or their thinly sliced candied sweet bacon for $2.99. It’s served on a toasted Gaston’s brioche bun. We’ve also tried a salad entrée: the refreshing Chicken Granny Smith Apple Entrée Salad with broiled chicken, spring greens, grape tomatoes, blue cheese, candied walnuts & walnut vinaigrette salad, topped with crispy onions for $15. I’ve had the Filet Mignon, $38, it’s a very good portion, wrapped in bacon and extremely tender. And that rich dark red wine demi-glace sauce!!! The horseradish potato gratin was outstanding. On this last visit, ordered the bread pudding, $10, to-go. The server, Rachael recommended packing up the white chocolate ganache separately and the Gaston’s brioche bread chilled, warming up at home. She was very helpful throughout the meal. And paced all the items coming out to not rush us. The restaurant moved in 2017 to an added 3rd floor Penthouse with lots of windows. From the Brick facing mural on the door of the elevator you take to the third floor to the fun artwork on the walls to a décor of formal chandeliers, large white hanging globes reminiscent of coffee shops in the sixties, wood floors, comfortable chairs (some have fun images on the back upholstery) and overstuffed booths with whimsical artwork. An open kitchen runs the length of most of the dining room and is a good design to be able to get hot food distributed to each table. I think the restaurant fulfills its mission as the web site mentions: “Brick 29 strives to cultivate a loyal guest through engaged hospitality and a consistent, progressive culinary experience. Our approach to food includes bringing our customer the best in taste at an...
