I really hate leaving negative reviews, especially to local businesses, as I am a small business owner here in Nampa as well.
Anyway, we were excited to try this place as we love BBQ and had very high hopes...unfortunately it was just a mess from start to finish...where do I begin?....well, we were greeted by an older lady that was actually quite friendly but she knew nothing about the menu, food, drinks, happy hour...etc...it took about 15 minutes just to get our order placed.. then about 20+ mins to receive our food...BTW, we were the only people in there.
Once the order was placed bearded guy #1 mentioned he was the cook, but never did anything but wonder around...so the lady went back and attempted to prepare the meal herself...she had no idea what she was doing...but God bless her for trying. At some point bearded guy #2 shows up and is mopping the kitchen floor...after a good while he puts down the mop and starts helping the lady prepare our order...without even washing his hands after mopping....YIKES!
So, we finally get our food and everything is cold...I had the 2-meat plate and my wife had a 1-meat plate....we found it almost amusing that every meat and side was cold or at best, room temperature. Also, it was very obvious that none of the food was fresh.
We took a few bites and quickly got out of there...worst $50 I've ever spent...very...
Read moreThe one person working was friendly. I got my food to go and it was a big disappointment, especially for the price. I got a 3 meat plate. Hot links, Pork Belly, Brisket. Mac and cheese and cheesy taters. First off. The hot links were not hot, barely spicy. But that’s a matter of taste. However they were very unevenly cooked, some of my pieces weren’t charred and some were barely warmed through. The pork belly was inedible. It was cooked so much that it was like meat chewing gum. The brisket was actually cooked nicely. As for the sides. The cheesy taters were ok. Basically just hash browns with a giant chunk of cheese that had at one point been melted but after cooling off was just.. a giant chunk of cheese. The Mac and cheese however was very gross. I’m not even sure there was cheese sauce on there. There was elbow macaroni and then a very small amount of some white ish sauce that tasted like particle board or something. It was not pleasant. All in all. For almost $40. I ate some brisket and a couple of bites of hash browns. Very disappointing. I personally will not...
Read moreI had really high hopes for this place, but alas, all were dashed. First, the positive. The manager was very friendly and even offered a discount on a future visit as an apology for the poor quality of the meal. One of their house bbq sauces was actually pretty good. Also, the place had a pretty cool vibe.
Now, for the negative. The meat (burnt ends, brisket, pork belly) was awful. As in, I ate like four bites kind of awful. It was so dry that I couldn’t cut it with my fork. I’ve never had any smoked meat served so overcooked. The sides were also way subpar. The cheesy mashed potatoes were frozen hash browns mixed with grated cheddar and the baked beans were just Busch’s Baked Beans. On top of this, it was crazy sloooow. Each plate came out one at a time, which means our meal arrived over the course of about 15 minutes. To add insult to injury, it was also pretty expensive ($26 for a meat, two sides, and a drink).
So, while the staff was friendly enough, they just couldn’t overcome the poor quality of the meal. Sorry, no second chance...
