STEAL AND ESCAPE - Escape Room Adventure in San Diego — Attraction in National City

“Missing Season” is our fourth escape room played at Steal & Escape and it did NOT disappoint! One thing’s for certain when playing any escape room game designed by their creative & talented owner Jason, it WILL be original! Without giving anything away that might spoil your experience, your game begins in a way you never thought it would. Then there’s surprises along the entire way that not just feels like a puzzle game, but that you’re also immersed in this fantasy world the entire time you’re playing. And their escape rooms and props aren’t just turnkey games they paid for and assembled over a weekend. You’ll be able to tell this game took months and many hours of labor to finally complete (you’ll see when you end up playing it). Each section of the journey encounters a whole new set of challenges which you and your group will enjoy trying to figure out. There’s a reason the max number of players is set for 5, as it would get pretty crowded with any more players as you navigate through the game. While our group managed to escape, we were so immersed that we lost our sense of time (something we never lose track of) but it was so much fun, we forgot about time altogether. This was my first time doing an escape room and my friends first time doing one here. We did the Missing Seasons room and it was so much fun! A great first escape room. First, the staff was so incredibly nice and funny. The woman who greeted us explained everything clearly and was very fun to talk to. I was surprised how interactive the game master was throughout the entire experience. He didn't give us too many hints only when we were absolutely clueless and they weren't too specific so we still had to figure it out. I liked having them interact with us so much because it kept us from completely rage quitting lol but it kept it fun/mysterious. There were only 2 of us which made it really fun because I would've been too stressed if there were more than like 3 of us. This would be a great team building activity to do with a company/staff. My friend and I realized we are a really good team and great at problem solving. The room itself is so pretty and high tech. The puzzles were so fun to solve and are so creative. After the room was done, we met up with the game master. He was so fun to talk to after the game and answered any questions we had (I was extremely curious about the things people have done in the past i.e if people have broken things/what's the funniest thing he had witness being a game master, etc). The first thing i think very important to note: this place has top notch customer service and is run by a husband and wife who seem have started this because they love the puzzles, not because they just want to make a buck.

My fiancé, little brother, professor, and myself all decided to try out this escape room recently. It was run by a really enthusiastic couple in an office building sort of place. It was clean including the bathroom and well maintained and everything seemed up to code and safe. The location was good, right off the interstate and easy to find; it was also close to some good restaurants and shops. If you're waiting an hour to get your car fixed on the mile of cars, check this place out! Also, plenty of parking and very near public transportation!

The puzzle itself was really cool! it was set in a different era and there were awesome unique props that played really well into the storyline. When we were finished, we all agreed that it was definitely one of the more challenging rooms we'd experienced. The owner, Jason, was very interested in our feedback and when we told him that, he said that his test groups said similar things and that he's constantly re-evaluating it to make it a better experience.

All in all, it was a great experience and well worth the money. If you like escape rooms, this one is a great one...
