I first encountered this place over six years ago, before they moved locations and when the Charles Frank was in charge. We loved the place and fell in love with a table. It was so beautiful, but a board started splitting from the rest. We contacted Charles again and he determined it wasn’t repairable and replaced it at no cost to us. We loved this table too. 5 stars to everything. We ended up moving to a smaller place for a few years and had my sister keep the table during that time. She fell in love with it too, and bought it off us. Then in 2023, we bought a house and went back to San Diego Rustic Furniture Warehouse for a new table. Charles had retired and now his daughter Gaby was running the shop. We found a table we loved and ordered wood legs for it. When they delivered the table, it had metal legs so we called to fix the mixup. They were accommodating and sent someone to change them out. Then they put on wood legs, but it was a new style that we hadn’t seen before and clashed with our style. This was never discussed beforehand. I contacted the daughter and she said that they didn’t make the old style wood legs anymore and wouldn’t be changing them out again. I asked if they could make a pair in the old style since it was a simpler build. She said no. We went back and forth a bit and I ended up giving up. But I viscerally hate these table legs. I would not have bought the table had I known these were the only wood legs they have for them now. I’m trying to find somewhere else to make the legs in the old style. They promote online discounts and NEVER honor them—total bait-and-switch. Their staff is rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. Don’t expect answers to emails or phone calls.

The furniture? Absolute garbage. Their so-called "rustic" pieces are made from the cheapest materials. In just 55 days, the wood will oxidize and turn yellow. Don’t waste your money on furniture that will fall apart in a couple of months.

Employees are overworked, underpaid, and constantly disrespected. The work environment is toxic, and turnover is high.

On top of that, they have been caught evading taxes and skirting the law. Their business practices are shady and unethical at best.

Lastly, the gossip and immature behavior is rampant. This isn’t a business, it’s a circus. Avoid at all costs.

I recently purchased a 6ft long live edge dining table and accompanying bench and I must say I’m extremely happy with the product. I’ve been wanting a live edge dining table for some time and finally when I was ready to pull the trigger I visited SD Rustic where I had the opportunity to pick a custom wood slab for my dining table and bench. The experience was very smooth and fun since the Manager Gaby was very helpful and patient as we picked the wood slabs that “spoke to me”. The table and bench then had legs added and the wood was treated with a special wax layer that enables it to be wiped down easily resistant to stains. My only recommendation is to request that the legs of the table and bench are wrapped prior to transport if you are picking up yourself rather than opting for delivery. Overall I’m in awe of the final product and I’m very happy with the warmth that this furniture piece has brought to my home! I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a live edge...
