National City Public Library — Attraction in National City

We just moved here from Atlanta. I don't know if it's just me or but some of the stuff are kind of racist. They only pick at my kids. They always have something to say to me but it be other race come in and they never said nothing to them. The parents be loud the kids be loud they don't say nothing. And my kids come in they be respectful sometimes I have to tell them be quiet but they never do nothing to nobody and they always pick on them. I'll be sitting in the car and my kids be inside using the computer and they told me that I can't sit in my car but it be kids coming from school be there by himself and they don't say nothing.. my kids love their library but sometimes I have to tell my kids not to say nothing to a certain stuff because how they treat them I hate to be like that but that's the way I have to be when I come in hopefully we will find a new...

I would like to take a moment to express my gratitude to your front desk staff: Valeria, (the young woman with the curly hair) at the front has given me exceptional Customer Service each & every time I visit the library. Last week she helped my teenage daughter open up her first very own card in which we are very appreciative of. Valeria, is always very kind and professional. As a native of National City I always enjoy going into the library with my family and very happy to see other young workers exhibiting genuine customer service. Marlene, was very kind and professional as well. I hope that these women will be recognized for their continued kindness as they assist the front desk creating a friendly face to the National City library.

I have to agree with the other commentator here called, "Sylvia". I actually observed a ugly racist issue take place at the library by a Mexican female towards a black female and the Mexican library Manager did zero about it. "Melvin" is the name of the Manager. It's absolutely disgraceful and reprehensible that in 2025 we are still being forced to deal with these issues as a result of some idiot that is making the wrong hiring choices in key positions.
