Plaza Donuts — Restaurant in National City

Sometimes I go five times a week, sometimes I go once a week. There are only a few working behind the counter in the morning. The owner who in my opinion is just a witch, uptight, no sense of humor and rigid not a person to be behind the counter serving customers. The mother-in-law super sweet nice lady and another Asian lady, short small framed and incredibly polite (she is taking english classes). The owner needs to take some personality classes although she's good at fake smiles that's about it.. BUT the donuts are absolutely five star especially the chocolate donuts. They use a lot of fudge in there topping that's why it's so dark unlike other places where you can't tell the difference between a maple donut and a chocolate donut because they are so skimpy on the fudge they put in the mix. Anyways if it wasn't for her the owner I'd give this place 10 stars and tell all my friends this is the place to buy your donuts and other breakfast treats! Oh one last thing, they offer flavored creamers for your coffee unlike other local places. nothing mentioned about donut holes in my review, for the record I've never asked for a free donut hole a free donut or free cup of coffee ever so I accept your apology. On a search for donuts for the last 3 months the last 3 doughnut shops I've been to in the National City area have been stale and tasteless. I finally resorted to yelp which brought me here.

I give this place 5 stars for 2 reasons. The fast and friendly service and for the quality of the doughnut. They were nice and fluffy and very delicious. As for the guy that helped me, he was very playful and shared my sense of humor.

For $9 I received the Bakers Dozen aka 14 donuts in which I only selected 13 donuts as one was considered 2 seeing as that one was very big as if it suffered radiation poisoning within the oven. I now know why Godzilla is rampaging through the cities, just so he can find this doughnut shop. Fantastic! To top it off he gave me free doughnut holes on top of my 12 + 1 large doughnut. This makes me excited...

Today we experienced Plaza Donuts fir the first time and love this. The ladies working are so nice and friendly, I think we would come back just for them. Their donut cases at the counter are fully stocked with beautiful donuts and croissants. We ordered a ham, egg and cheese on croissant and a ham bacon egg and cheese on croissant. These sandwiches are huge so we ate half and we are saving the other halves for tomorrow. We were so excited that we forgot to take a photo of the sandwiches before we started eating. Very good sandwiches. We ordered a half dozen donuts and these are fresh and delicious. The dining area has room for 16 people to sit. This is an excellent donut restaurant to visit and is now a staple for us on our visits...
