RiverTowne Players — Attraction in New Bern

I love community theater and I love that we have this place to use for it. My only complaint would be the sound. Towards the back where some of the seats are under the cover of the balcony the sound can be muffled and difficult to understand voices. Towards the front the sound system is so strong you almost get blown out of your seats when somebody gets loud. "Sister Act" was horrible, trampling upon everything that a Catholic considers beautiful and holy about the salvation offered by Jesus, His passion, the Church, and the consecrated life (nuns and monks). I left the theater halfway through, inwardly crying. I have never been one for theatre plays but the excellent production of Fiddler on the Roof has certainly been a game changer. This is an awesome presentation with an outstanding cast. The stage work is professionally done and the orchestra is tops. But the most exciting thing is to see my beautiful wife and two granddaughters perform.
