Ghosts of New Bern — Local services in New Bern

Our tour guide Lady Raven, wow just wow. She was amazing!! There was 10 of us ages 4 through 50 and we all had a blast!! Her stories and knowledge of New Bern blew my mind!! I grew up here and lived here 25 years and never knew about some of the history she told us about!! Not to mention and the beginning of the tour we saw a great Grey Owl in a tree in the church cemetery! What's crazy is my husband's brother who died of cancer 10 years ago always said he would come back as a great grey owl. It gave us chills seeing that owl. Lady Raven was better than we could've ever asked for. Can't wait to come back and request...

This was by FAR the best ghost tour I’ve ever been on. I even might have caught an apparition (see my last photo to the right of the stairs - there is a face looking back that was not in the other pictures of that same staircase!). Our guide Melissa was entertaining, knowledgeable about the area, and an extremely kind and engaging person. My camera was going crazy, and another in our group caught an apparition in the cemetery. Good Solid tour. [Wear bug spray!] Great for families. Great guide that had a love for history. Certainly do recommend for history buffs. The only down side was that every place on the tour was owned by Tryon Palace, so the stories all felt a bit whitewashed. Of the stores told, everyone that had passed away was from the war or disease, not really any stories about a drunken bar brawl gone bad or murder, really.
