On Thursday, 1/14/2021, My significant other had an operation on his left shoulder at SRC STS Center (Short Term Surgery Center).
Con : Part of his pre-op experience was not the best, thanks to one of the nurses - who insulted him! There was absolutely no need for her to be disrespectful, that is not something that any patient should have to endure. I will be making a call to report that, because her behavior was uncalled for!
Pros : Other than the nurse who was rude, my significant other received outstanding care from other medical professionals who were part of his team - the anesthesiologists, the other nurses, and of course the surgeon - who happened to be Dr. Kenneth Donohue! Knowing that my significant other was in the best hands throughout the pre-op stage, the surgery, and during post-op gave me a huge sense of relief in many ways! I did have some anxiety, which need to me being in tears over the fact that he (my significant other) was going to have surgery. I was reassured that everything would be okay! The anesthesiologist and another female nurse were kind enough to let me say âsee you in a few hoursâ, and give my significant other a kiss before they wheeled him into the Operating Room. I was fortunate enough to receive text messages throughout each part from beginning to end, which was very helpful and kept me informed along the way! Thank goodness for technology. From the time spent in pre-op, time spent in the OR, being brought into the Recovery Area, and being discharged was not that long! A huge thank you to everyone who was part of my significant otherâs care team - you guys are so awesome and I am truly appreciative of everything you have done; and a shout-out to the ladies who sat the reception desk located on Floor 3A in the STS Center - thank you for being so understanding, professional, and kind to me! You all made my significant otherâs short term surgical...
Read moreI'm currently inpatient at Yale New Haven Hospital, st Raphael. I'd like to share my experience. Pros: every person I met was great except the actual doctors. The nurses, techs, janitors, transport specialist, everyone was fantastic except the doctors. The facilities are very nice and also clean. Cons: The doctors were almost all rude and dismissive, and downright neglectful at times. This hospital and the main one have implemented a policy that no one is to receive IV pain medication outside of the emergency room. I tired to take the meds under the skin and it caused a reaction, so my pain was not managed effectively while I was here. What meds I could get were often severely delayed due to lack of communication from the doctors to the nurses. I actually had to call the police and threaten to take action against the hospital as well as have an ambulance take me to another hospital before a doctor would answer my nurse after ignoring her for 2 hours. It was several days before someone realized no one put an allergy warning bracelet on me. My medications were a disaster. They gave me meds I wasnt supposed to take repeatedly, and didn't give me meds I was supposed to take. And finally, the food. The food was completely inedible. There was not a single thing I could eat the entire week I was here, I had to order food multiple times because I have been starving. I've never in my life experienced such terrible hospital food. Also they have pressured me to leave my room and go wait in the lobby until my ride gets here, no hospital has ever done that to me.
I will never return to...
Read moreI wouldn't think I had to give a review to a hospital but after today... I have so much to say. My daughter was in a car accident on Thursday afternoon. They decided to do surgery on her today. I understand that it might not been urgent, witch no one took the time to explain to me, my daughter or any of the family members. I'm literally just assuming. ( Communication sucks!!!) I had to tell them I was going to move her from one hospital to another to be able to see some action. I have text messages with providers to prove what I'm saying. I get to the hospital at 6:09pm go to the surgery area after I been waiting they tell me at the check in that I will get another text and someone will come get me so I can see her. I was waiting like 2hrs or a bit longer to only get told that my daughter had been brought up to her room and visiting hrs where over. Like what type of service is this. The person that told me she was in her roon proceded to go on and on with idk, this is not my job, I'm helping. Another person on the hallway leading to the surgery area had an attitude because I asked for the number for patient relations. She started twisting her neck and stuff the only thing she was missing was to suck her teeth at me. Top one badges and names where not visible on no one. So I can't write names. I work in the medical field too and I know if I was to answer the way they answered me, wear my badge on a place where my name is not visible, or give ppl attitude the way I received it from the staff at this hospital I would of been in some type of reprimand from...
