Prices are high compared to other stores. I always double check my receipts for errors. The product is free if charged a higher price than marked or advertised. This happens a lot with many stores. Always check your receipts!!! 5/16/19 First stop on today's visit was to customer service to reconcile receipt from 5/6. I had been overcharged for clementines and onions. Cole slaw from the deli had spoiled by 5/8. I was asked where the slaw was and said that I had tossed it. What exactly did they want to do with it anyway? I was refunded $11.07 after 20mins and when I checked the receipt after, it should have been $12.75. Worth the hassle? Being on SNAP, every penny is important. Was not given an acknowledgement on having to come back about this matter but was told to look more carefully next time for the correct items on sale. Really??? S/S, maybe seperate on sale items from similar ones. Then, onto produce aisle. Expired items all over. Cut fruit, bagged spinach and lettuce to name a few. Check experation dates as well people bucause staff obviously doesn't nor do they practice rotation. The same for meat, bread and dairy. I would rather buy fresh products but processed may be a safer bet. Checkout a joke!! One regular register open other that the fast item one with 3 full carts ahead of me. Employees standing around talking to each other while people are waiting. I ended up scanning and bagging myself with the call attendant light coming on frequently. The attendant coming over and scanning a card without a word. Scanner would not accept bottle return slips. All in all, disgusted with this store. It will take more planning to go to a store out of town but will certainly be worth it. This store is making a bundle on mispriced items and items that are past experation dates. Both are illegal. How many people check receipts and experation dates? Many don't. A mistake is a mistake but as a common practice, no excuse!! No stars...
Read moreI love this Stop & Shop because their food is always fresh, always new, they always have a reliable stock and enough new flavors to make your shopping experience fun and eventful. I'm also an avid reader and every month they have a new variety of books for sale and they offer 20% off any best seller on their top 10 list, clearly posted with large font, which makes it fun as well. They also Supply almost every variety of cat food and their prices aren't cheap but they're average for the market. They have their own Bakery and they make their own loaves of sliced bread fresh and always price them at a $1.99 which is really affordable. After two days, they reduce the price to a dollar and the bread is still fresh and lasts a couple weeks. They make their own delicious muffins, which are really high in calories but well priced. The double merchandise coupons for under a dollar patents allow you to buy them with in-store coupons. You also earn $0.10 a gallon for every $100 spent, unless there's a promotion in which you earn more and it adds up; most months I spent around two or three hundred dollars in our lives they get $0.40 off a gallon, this month I even got $0.70 off a gallon. I absolutely recommend this store, it's clean and has a bathroom open to the public with a water fountain. Unlike Walmart which requires ID for returns without a receipt, they don't require ID and don't require a receipt for new returns less than $20. They always give the customer the benefit of the doubt and have always returned stuff that opened or eaten if there's a problem or complaint with the product being returned. Firstly, the cleanliness of the store was subpar. I noticed dusty shelves, spilled products left unattended, and aisles cluttered with abandoned carts. It was evident that the staff had not prioritized maintaining a tidy environment, which greatly detracted from the shopping experience.
In addition to the physical shortcomings of the store, I was disappointed by the customer service I received. The staff appeared disinterested and unapproachable, offering minimal assistance when I sought help locating items. Moreover, at the checkout, I encountered long lines and slow service, indicating a lack of efficiency in managing customer flow.
Overall, my experience at Stop & Shop was highly disappointing. The lack of cleanliness, organization, and customer service, coupled with the subpar product selection, left me feeling frustrated and dissatisfied.
