I needed to get a replacement phone for my wife's 2015 Galaxy J7 Android phone. Though they have a great support reputation and a wide variety of latest Android phones, my wife strongly wanted a non-5G phone. I asked ECW's Sam if he would install and support for a reasonable price, a phone that I purchased myself. He said certainly and gave me a great price for that. I purchased a Galaxy A52 (great deals on those - Amazon), charged it fully as Sam advised, and brought it in. Though I am an electrical engineer myself, I dreaded taking responsibility myself for all correct settings, app & data transfers, etc. It ended up taking several hours, even using special transfer tools (I had not even known about)! It would have taken me far longer. Throughout that time, between servicing other customers, we both asked Sam many questions and received really helpful answers and suggestions, like first backing up onto Google drive via a dormant Google account I had set up for her. Happy ending - my wife loves her new phone (128GB), got a brief lesson on the basics, and Sam (and I presume other staff) being a man of his word, charged us the same low price (even though others might have considered us the [polite, clueless] customers from hell). I very highly recommend Elm City Wireless (New Haven, CT) - great, knowledgeable support, flexibility, and very reasonable charges. A+ on every level. (I can't believe how patient Sam was with us!) I will get wireless support only from ECW in the future (perhaps on a tablet next?). I suggest anyone needing support, and/or devices, try Elm City Wireless. I don't think you can go...
Read moreBrought my phone in to get the screen repaired. When i got it back the on / off button was broken, pushed in and barely working. I told the employee and he pressed on it several times with a tool to no improvement. They then told me i had to press the button harder because it was not aligned with the new screen, they put in. I kept showing them that it was not working, and they kept saying it was not broken I just had to press harder. The button had no issues when I brought the phone in for the screen repar. They acted liked I was making it up. After 2 days of pressing, it harder ( as directed) it does not work at all. I called twice. First call I asked to speak to owner and got attitude from an employee who told me the owner was not in. Second time I called got more attitude and told the owner was busy and I should just come in. I was not going to drive an hour without talking to the owner as I feel like it would just be a repeat of all described above. Bad business to not put owner / supervisor on phone when asked or offer too take a message. Partially my fault because i should of been more assertive at the time they broke it. $95 bucks down the drain. I wish i had used my credit card so I could of charged it back instead of paying cash for the paying...
Read moreI called this place to fix my perfectly working Note 20 Ultra phone, which I use for work with a broken screen. I was offered two options: 150 for an LCD screen and 200 for a premium screen. I asked for the premium screen, I gave them my phone for two days, and when I went to pick it up, the screen was not the same. The edges were way smaller than the original screen, and I've had the phone for 3 days now, and I've been having a lot of issues with my screen being unresponsive, calling random numbers, and most of my apps and network issues not working and when the screen is on the always on display there was a green hue. So I went back and asked, “Why is my phone doing this?” One of the guys said my screen is an “aftermarket screen". They said that that was what I was paying for, for 217. They then offered me another price of $300 to get the original screen. Apparently, my screen was not that, so I don't know what's going on, but I needed them to...
