I have gotten my nails, waxing, haircut and hair products from Lux Salon for over 8 years. Erin is the owner and is personable and has created a warm and welcoming woman owner salon in a great area of Mid City called Bayou St. John. You can book online easily or call and make an appointment. They have good hours for people who work long hours and do not fit in the conventional 9-5 appointment spot. The staff is friendly and easy to talk with and there is always a sense of calmness when you enter their salon. It is a true neighborhood business where you greet others by their first names and feel as though you have known them for a long time. The location is walkable, bike friendly and easy to get there from the Canal streetcar or Esplanade bus. New to town, I booked an appointment with Kimberlee for a haircut that adjusted the style and grow out of my long pixie and was delighted with the results. Three weeks later and I’m still in love with it, plus I went back to have her do my color. What she suggested was a little more edgey than I’d done in a while, but she did such a fantastic job. Every time I wash and style it I stop and think how much I love it — something I’ve never done with any other stylist. I wish I could take her with me to every city I live in!
