A fantastic spot for supper. We started with the smoked trout dip – delicious! The fried saltines were fine, but I think a different cracker or bread would elevate it. For mains, the crispy fish sandwich with celery root remoulade and fries was excellent, as were the roasted chicken thighs with parsnip puree and scallions. Both dishes were cooked perfectly and full of flavor. Ordered two Guinnesses as well. The restaurant has a cool, almost European feel, with nice artwork and little table lamps. Highly recommend!

We came for the Guinness and had a few of the appetizers. We need to come back to try the meals. Had to play ‘Split the G’ and tried their frozen gin & tonic- I would recommend even if you don’t like tonic like myself. The staff was great and super friendly, the atmosphere has cute decor and little rooms with small tables, definitely more ideal for smaller groups. It was rainy when we went, otherwise I’m sure the outside patio would be full because it is beautiful.

Great spot. Absolutely love how they’ve used the space. It truly invokes a British pub in its sensibilities. I had the pleasure of Josie looking after me. The service was great. I want them to fake English accents, but this isn’t about that. I love the cozy dining atmosphere. The décor really completes the mood. I had the broiled oysters and fish sandwich, both of which I enjoyed. Will be back.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Bell, a charming new addition to New Orleans’ Bayou St. John neighborhood, on Monday, February 17th. Nestled along the picturesque Esplanade Avenue, The Bell offers a unique blend of British-inspired cuisine and warm, inviting ambiance.

Upon entering, I was immediately struck by the cozy, living room/pub vibes that make The Bell feel like a home away from home. The interior is adorned with eclectic decor, including Union Jack flags, vintage croquet mallets, and tartan accents, creating a distinctive and welcoming atmosphere.

The highlight of our visit was the exceptional service provided by the female bartender. Her personable and knowledgeable demeanor enhanced our experience, as she expertly crafted cocktails and offered insightful recommendations.

The menu at The Bell is a delightful fusion of British classics and New Orleans flair. We particularly enjoyed the crispy fish sandwich with celery root remoulade and the fishmonger’s pie featuring fresh Gulf seafood. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared, showcasing high-quality ingredients and culinary expertise.

As a seasonal local resident, I am thrilled to have The Bell in our community. Its unique concept, delectable food and drinks, and inviting atmosphere make it a must-visit destination for both locals and visitors alike. I highly recommend stopping by The Bell to experience this exceptional...

The Bell is everything you want in a neighborhood bar & restaurant — warm, charming, and effortlessly excellent. Since they opened, this delightful English pub has been the perfect addition to the New Orleans food and beverage scene. My fiancé and I have been loyal fans from day one, and it’s become our absolute favorite spot for date night in the city.

Housed in a cozy, converted home with a beautiful porch and spacious patio, The Bell strikes the perfect balance between casual comfort and elevated hospitality. The vibe is always welcoming, and the staff go above and beyond — especially Andrew, the owner, who you’ll almost always see greeting guests and making sure everything feels just right. You can truly feel the care and thought he’s poured into every detail.

The menu is consistently excellent. A perfectly poured Guinness or a crisp gin and tonic sets the tone, and from there, it’s hard to go wrong. The roasted chicken thighs are a standout — juicy, flavorful, and beautifully plated — and the crispy fish sandwich is next-level comfort food done right.

The Bell is more than just a restaurant to us — it’s a gem of a place that makes every meal feel like a little celebration. We love it dearly and recommend it to...

This place is a little bit of New Orleans with a lot of London. We went on a Sunday and can’t wait to go back. First off, the service was great. From the host to the server. It has the quintessential English Pub vibe with the best kitschy pub art I’ve seen in a while. (I’ve been to London more times I can count) It’s warm and inviting and very casual. The menu is elevated pub, with some amazing New Orleans style twists. Their cocktail menu is fantastic. Highly recommend the Breakfast Martini, with gin and an amazing orange marmalade. Get it. Their grilled oysters with English cheddar was unexpectedly so good. The fried fish sandwich with chips…on another level. The fish is light, the slaw was vibrant and the malt vinegar aioli is like nothing I’ve ever had. The Fishmonger’s Pie was perfect. If you’re in the mood for an English Pub experience without the 6+ hour flight to London, head on over to The Bell. Side note: I’d love to see a Scotch Egg & Sausage Roll...
