It was my first time visiting Rhode Island and staying at The 1661 Inn was the best decision I ever made. The 1661 Inn has their own garden and farm which are open to the public. I need to highlight that all the animals at their farm look happy and healthy. I love how attentive they are in taking care of them. Makes it even more special. The 1661 Inn also offers a delicious farm to table breakfast. Everything is fresh, organic, with several options to choose from. Everything was perfect!

Visited yearly since 2016. August 2025 there seems to be a lot of expansion to the animal quarters but seemed to be a lack of beautiful ambiance we’ve come to love about the farm. It was a hot day so animals were hiding trying to find shade which there was not much of for them. The flower garden was open for pictures which was nice. We enjoyed feeding the animals with the food we bought from the farm stand for them. Hope that in the future they create a more pleasing area for the animals.

I absolutely love this farm and all of the animals. I have been walking with and feeding the alpacas for five seasons now. For some reason, you cannot enter the area where the alpacas are anymore which is extremely disappointing. I was seriously so sad! I hope they don’t keep it like this forever, the layout before was so...
