1661 Farm & Garden — Attraction in New Shoreham

It was my first time visiting Rhode Island and staying at The 1661 Inn was the best decision I ever made.

The 1661 Inn has their own garden and farm which are open to the public. I need to highlight that all the animals at their farm look happy and healthy. I love how attentive they are in taking care of them. Makes it even more special.

The 1661 Inn also offers a delicious farm to table breakfast. Everything is fresh, organic, with several options to choose from.

Visited yearly since 2016. August 2025 there seems to be a lot of expansion to the animal quarters but seemed to be a lack of beautiful ambiance we’ve come to love about the farm. It was a hot day so animals were hiding trying to find shade which there was not much of for them. The flower garden was open for pictures which was nice. I absolutely love this farm and all of the animals. I have been walking with and feeding the alpacas for five seasons now. For some reason, you cannot enter the area where the alpacas are anymore which is extremely disappointing. I was seriously so sad!
