New ownership is rude. Over the years I have spent thousands in this store. The routine is always the same. I walk in with my wife and our four kids. We sit down at the small kid table and pick a book to read as a family. I read it to them while my wife finds books, puzzles, and a variety of other things to waste money on. I read the book and at the end we purchase it and the kids all pick another book for themselves. Today we waited to get in until the other customers were gone because of the limited capacity rule. No big deal, then went to the table. I got to page three of the five Chinese brothers (one of my favorite) when the new owner came over and very rudely told me not to read the book. We were filled with disappointment before we took the ferry back from the island. So much for trying to support a...

It was an enjoyable conversation, and I appreciated the suggestion. Fabulous book. And very cute little bookstore, it’s a gem. Although books can be cheaper online, the conversation...
