I was visiting the island last week for a retreat and one of the guests staying at the Blue Dory Inn where I was, informed me that the Lunch Bucket was the best food they encountered on their visit. Intrigued. I had to verify this for myself and walked over on a sunny Thursday afternoon. I was impressed with the alternative lawn space set with picnic tables, Adirondack chairs, and offering picturesque views of the coastline from this vantage point. I was greeted immediately by John who I found out later was the owner of the establishment. He had an apron on and sleeves rolled up, just finishing up serving another patron. The food is decent, refreshing, and slightly elevated compared to the standard beach offerings (think avocado for your burger, parmesan for the fries, tofu, etc.). There are plenty of options for vegetarians and gluten free diners too. Plenty of seating. Picnic tables are nicely shaded by umbrellas, and have fun games to play while you wait for your food. The servers and owner are friendly and accommodating, and really seemed to try their best to make sure our lunch order exceeded our expectations. They're working out a few kinks in the kitchen as they get up and running this season but they get an A+ for effort and hospitality. We'll...
Read moreDef check out this new restaurant! Great casual spot with outdoor seating and nice views walking distance from the ferry. John thought of everything when he opened up. There is a menu for humans AND dogs, ALLERGY SAFE (huge for us as our child has nuts and sesame allergies), and vegan friendly. There are all sorts of lawn games, board games, kid’s activities (coloring, bubbles etc), and old school Nintendo and NES systems. The food is great! We had the burger sliders, chicken sliders, chicken sandwich and fries. The sandwiches were super juicy and cooked perfectly. The fresh made juices are delicious as well. Worth trying for breakfast or lunch. Also, added perk is there is online ordering...
