We were one of ONLY four tables seated inside, and four of us were clearly unhappy. Everyone was complaining and for good reason.
The space is beautiful, but that’s where the effort ends. The menu is extremely limited, which we understood as it’s a new spot, but the service made things worse. There were only 2 fish dishes on the menu. I asked our waiter how one was prepared. He couldn’t explain how and awkwardly guessed before finally smiling and admitting he had no idea.
We ordered the calamari and oysters Rockefeller. We saw other apps coming out and couldn’t believe the size of them. They were in beautiful dishes but no bigger than a side plate. The calamari came on a massive bed of spring lettuce mix in a bowl with less than a dozen rings total, a clear attempt to make the portion look bigger, it was a laughable. The oysters were flavorful, but things went downhill fast.
As we were about to order our four steaks, we noticed complete chaos at the other tables. Wrong dishes, a waiter trying to convince a customer a sauce was Gorgonzola sauce when it clearly wasn’t. We watched as multiple tables sent plates back. Understandably there were frustrated servers, Our waiter was running around trying to find a manager who was nowhere to be found. It honestly felt like we were watching a restaurant unravel in real time. Customers were all just looking around at each other in disbelief.
We decided not to stay for dinner and left. There were at least a dozen people in the kitchen, so the disorganization was baffling. Anyone who gave a good review had to just come for drinks and the ambience. Grab a drink on the upstairs deck, but dinner? Not worth it, it is a hard pass! Maybe wait until they seriously get it together. Beautiful place, but totally overpriced for the quality and experience. In the end I felt like this new restaurant is trying incredibly hard to be high end but decor on its own...
Read moreIf only I had read the other review of someone who ate here beforehand, I could have saved myself (although this place wasn't busy at all coming in, which in hindsight should have been the first warning..) 💀 We ordered oysters along with drinks to start, and then a burger + chicken caesar salad for entrees. My boyfriend asked for the burger medium-well, but it was definitely rare (entirely deep pink/red throughout, totally soft). Afterwards our two very nonchalant servers kept coming out every now and then to say that it would still be more time for the (just 6) oysters that we had ordered at the start. They took forever but finally did come out, albeit well after the entrees were served.
Not even 15 minutes after we walked away from the table, both of us felt extremely ill and were soon after keeled over on the side of the road throwing up. It was the grossest feeling to walk around with on a hot day, all day 🤮 The nausea and stomach pains were so ungodly vile and unrelenting, and there's NO doubt in either of our minds that it was from the food that we ate here. I don't know what could possibly be going on in that kitchen, but it's obvious they have a thing or two to learn about proper food preparation/safety. Now I know that the pompous menu descriptions and limited options are really just a mask to hide behind their own incompetence! Outrageous is the only way to describe the con act that they have running here; your money is much better spent...
Read moreNot the experience I was hoping for, I had checked for available reservations before leaving our boat and saw that there were plenty of time options, so I didn’t book in advance since I wasn’t sure how long the boat launch or taxi would take. When we arrived and asked for a table, the host immediately asked if we had a reservation. When I said no, he turned to the couple behind us, asked them the same question, and seated them — then told us he would “see what he could do” when he returned. I was confused, especially since I could see open reservations.
Before he came back, I went ahead and made a reservation on my phone. When I told him we now had one, we were seated downstairs — not upstairs — and only offered tables either next to the host stand or beside the kitchen. It felt like we had done something wrong, and unfortunately, that set the tone for the rest of the night.
Our server was kind, but our starter never arrived. Our entrées came out before we even realized it was missing. They offered us a complimentary drink, but we already had our drinks, and when the server later suggested a dessert instead, I honestly just wanted to leave.
The restaurant itself is beautiful, but I left disappointed. I wish the experience had matched...
