I’m going to tell you what your experience will be like going to Brooklyn car audio. Once you walk in, you won’t be able to walk out unless you have nerve.I went there asking them to install a sub a bought in my rear deck.I came with my own wires for everything, all I needed it was to be installed.I went in there and they told me they it’s going to sound horrible not to do it.Then they said the labor is going to be $350 to put in my deck lid that it’s hours of labor. All they had to do was cut an 8 inch hole in the deck lid. I could do it with something as small as a drumel tool if I really wanted. When I heard how much they wanted to install it I said it’s okay I don’t want it done. Even time I would try and walk out they kept stopping me say wait let’s make you a deal we don’t want you to walk out of here bla bla bla. They kept pushing and pushing and made me feel so uncomfortable. My fault for not leaving, because that led me to get screwed. I told them at the beginning I’m a college student and I don’t have money like that to easily spend. They tried to tell me they were giving me a deal on a subwoofer amp deal and they forced me into it. They charged me $650, when the sub and amp were only $225 together. They pushed me into this deal because they wanted to make money off using their own stuff and getting rid of old subs on their shelf. They gave me some story that I need to break the sub in for two weeks. I broke it in for three and after the third week I didn’t even have the volume nor subwoofer up and it went on fire in my car. It smoked it all up. I got so scared I had to rip it out of my truck because it was bolted down for some reason. Mind you, everyone I showed the sub to told me they never heard of the company. I didn’t know any better. I had bought a skar sub because I knew it was a good product and just wanted it installed with the amp I also provided. I went back there with my brother like gentleman asking for not the money for the job back, but the money for just the sub and the amp. They wouldn’t budge one bit and wouldn’t give it back to me. They gave me the run around saying we have a lifetime warranty we will fix it don’t worry. He told me it probably blew because I had the volume too loud. WHAT, the volume too loud on the sub you sold me, with the amp you tuned. Yea they gave me a new box but they cut the power going to the sub to half.Yea that’s what a lifetime warranty gets me.I live far away from the place and realized it was low once I was half way home. Having bass after not having it for some time since the first box had blew made me think everything was alright with the second one. I called them and told them about and and they said bring it back.I have a life and school to go to.I don’t have the time nor money for gas to go back and forth to this place.I said to them I’m not satisfied with their work and if this sub blows again we need to workout a deal on either a sub either to this one but a different company,or my money back because at this point it is not right, the guy on the phone didn’t say word and kept going around that. This place takes advantage of people, nevertheless college students. To be specific, the three people I delt with through this disappointing, embarrassing experience was an Asian man,a Hispanic man with a grey beard, and a a Slavic man.Now I am stuck with this p*s subwoofer that will keep blowing. Now I am out $650 on a garbage setup, have holes in my trunk, and don’t have what I want with this subwoofer. Not only that, but they had the nerve to charge me all this money for installation but couldn’t even put the sub dial where I wanted. They said we didn’t have a wire big enough. You should have told me this before you put it where I DID NOT want it.The best part is they said they were going to hide the sub and Line converter but they screwed the amp to the back of my backseat. All they care about is getting their money, not what the consumer wants.Do not go to this shop or else you will pay too much and get your car messed up. Although going to other places will cost much less (including Bestbuy typically costs
Read moreCalled on a Wednesday and talked with Michael S. - front end, after reading many positive reviews. PLEASE put your honest reviews for products and services online as it really helps customers determine where and how to spend their hard earned cash. I had many questions which were answered to my satisfaction. I also told him I would order parts online. He said if I didn't mind I could find items, bring prices & he would do his best to price match. Asked to come in on Thurs. to see him - no problem. Went in with prices and stayed for a while talking with him, Ramzi and Mish - front end. Had back window tint taken out as it fogs in humidity & rain. Also had wind deflector removed as old car was to be donated. I placed an order for tints, remote start, bt radio, bumper guards and side markers for Mon. as I was picking up my new car on Fri. Came in at 9 on Mon. all the guys were ready to work on my car - Alex on tint, Muhamed on radio, Kevin on remote start, OJ on bumper guards (I didn't know they even did that!) and David on side lights (this too was a surprise!). They worked so hard [in the heat and humidity - 95+ degrees - their work area is NOT air conditioned] and were so friendly . Asked me where I wanted bumper guards placed so that I would be satisfied. Other customers came and went and they treated them all as if they were life-long friends or family members. This establishment knows what the words "customer service" means and they take time to ensure your complete satisfaction. If you want satisfaction and to feel as if your money has been well spent, go see the guys at Brooklyn Car Audio on Utica Ave. Thank you ALL for the hard work you did under extreme weather conditions and all...
