This is one of my favorite BPL locations and a true hidden gem. The history of the building itself (it's a Carnegie library) and its history of service is fascinating, and the treasures in the Brownsville Heritage House are invaluable. The library staff have been providing great resources and activities to the community for decades, and in shows in the way that the residents frequent the space, especially kids. Read moreI came to my local library to complete an assignment & if you’re looking to get any work done just DO NOT come here! No quiet area in the entire library at all. The whole library is loud and distracting, full of people yelling and no one enforcing any type of order. When I tried to find a quiet place and complained about all the noise the staff was sharp and rude and I’m just very very disappointed in the community honestly. The facility is very neat and clean, with many places to sit, and use the computer. Their collection of children's board books is well curated and has plenty of options perfect for enriching language development of children under 5.
