Thatford Hotel — Hotel in New York

This hotel is a must DON'T first they have no parking it's on-street parking in a residential neighborhood. I called a week before to ask about parking (i.e. meter parking, street cleaning etc.) I was told yes there was parking on the street with none of the things I asked. Well, we get there and it was street parking with no meters but it was street cleaning. I was told by the front desk that they never really come thru to clean so don't worry u won't get a ticket....well, I'm paying a $65 ticket. They charged us almost $800 for a little closet with no closet and uncomfortable beds. My back still hurts on top of the already back pain I suffer with daily. The hotel was clean, and there were a couple of spots on the white comforters, but the white sheets and the mattress were clean and bed bug-free. Only 2 of the employees speak English the others barely speak they don't understand you. The television only works on the internet and if everyone is trying to log on you will have nothing but regular TV. I have been waiting for management to call me about the issue and I'm back home still no call. We were there for a funeral and the family told us not to stay but we did but for what paid we could have stayed somewhere else for the same price. The best part is that it's plenty of shopping...

First of all, we went there 14.40 and they told us that the check-in time is at 15.00. We respected the rules of course and went outside because there was no place to sit and wait. We went back at 15.00 and checked in. The staff gave us our room key and our room was still being cleaned so we had to stand there for 15 minutes because we couldn’t sit. Because they just cleaned, when we entered the room, the floor became dirty immediately and nobody cared to clean for 5 days.

They give just one tiny shampoo for 2 people and because they did not renew them everyday, we had to ask the front desk to send us some. Also, we used the same towels for 5 days because nobody checked our room.

The bed was super uncomfortable. Everytime I moved, it made a very high metalic sound which awakened my partner and I can’t sleep without moving. Imagine the sleep we had!

From the very beginning our stay was not good. The lady at the front desk does not know what she’s doing, I asked her 5 times would there be a deposit hold on my card, she said no. Come to find out there is a $100 deposit that they charge to your card, which isn’t the problem. The problem is she should know that.

The rooms do not look like what is displayed on the website. The rooms are very small.

I had to tell the clerk at the front desk two times that the house keeping did not come to our room at all. They are supposed to come in everyday and provide new towels, etc. I had to ask for towels and each time was told “we don’t have any towels right now.” Which is ridiculous to me.
