A Comprehensive Review of Brooklyn Sports Club: Your Ultimate Fitness Destination
As someone who actively seeks out exceptional health and fitness facilities, I was thrilled to explore the Brooklyn Sports Club. Having now experienced its many features firsthand, I can confidently state that it lives up to its promise of helping its members "live better".
From the moment you step into the 100,000 square foot facility, you're met with an air of excitement and energy that's infectious. The Brooklyn Sports Club provides a comprehensive range of facilities that cater to diverse fitness needs and preferences.
The fitness floor, spanning over 10,000 square feet, is equipped with state-of-the-art gear from renowned brands like Keiser, Precor, and Gym Rax. This expansive area with top-notch equipment makes it stand out from many other exercise facilities, providing ample space and tools to get a well-rounded workout.
The swimming facilities are a particular highlight. The 25-yard indoor lap pool, boasting six lanes, is one of the largest in NYC. It's ideal for both serious swimmers and those who wish to unwind after a strenuous workout. There's also a dedicated training pool for aqua aerobics, perfect for those who prefer a low-impact, yet effective workout. I was particularly impressed by the kiddie pool area – a safe, fun space for young ones to splash around and enjoy their first swimming lessons.
Speaking of lessons, Brooklyn Sports Club offers a host of instructional classes. I was fortunate to work with Jordan, one of their swimming instructors, who was patient, dedicated, and highly effective in helping me improve my swimming skills. His expertise and commitment to his students are commendable.
The club also boasts indoor and outdoor basketball courts, catering to sports enthusiasts who enjoy a friendly game or a competitive match. The outdoor sun deck with a partial awning is an excellent space to relax and catch some sun during the summer.
Martial arts and boxing classes for both youth and adults add a unique and dynamic touch to the club's offerings. The boxing studio was a personal favorite of mine, providing an excellent opportunity to learn new skills and blow off some steam.
The five group exercise studios offer a variety of classes – from strength and cardio to mind and body workouts. The personal training and small group training options ensure that everyone can find a workout routine that suits their individual needs and goals.
The locker rooms are spacious, clean, and well-maintained, with steam rooms and saunas for post-workout relaxation. The additional facilities like the children's party space and meeting room rentals add a community-friendly touch to the club.
Convenience is also a significant factor in the club's favor. With free on-site parking and a location just off the Belt Parkway, it's easily accessible and hassle-free to visit.
In summary, the Brooklyn Sports Club offers an exceptional fitness experience. It's more than just a gym – it's a comprehensive health hub that caters to the whole family. The combination of top-tier facilities, a wide range of classes, expert trainers, and a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere makes it a standout choice for anyone looking to exceed their fitness goals.
I wholeheartedly recommend swinging by and booking a tour – seeing is believing, and I am sure you'll be as impressed as I was. The Brooklyn Sports Club is not just a fitness facility; it's a community, a lifestyle,...
Read moreI recently joined Brooklyn Sports club, excited to kickstart my fitness journey, but my experience has been quite disappointing. Upon arrival, the facilities looked promising with a wide array of machines and weights. However, it didn't take long to notice a significant problem: a substantial number of the machines were broken, particularly the stair-master.
During my initial visit, I planned to use the stair-master, but three out of four were out of order. I decided to switch to the treadmills, only to find that two of them were malfunctioning, leaving fewer options for members. There weren’t enough Mats for members to use or enough free weights
I approached the staff to inquire about when the machines might be fixed, but the responses were vague and unhelpful. They seemed aware of the issues but unable or unwilling to provide a clear timeline for repairs. This lack of communication and apparent disregard for maintenance is unacceptable.
The gym's cleanliness was another issue. While the locker rooms and common areas were reasonably clean, the broken machines themselves were dusty and unkempt, suggesting they had been out of service for quite some time.
On the positive side, the gym did have a spacious area for personal training and group classes, which were well-conducted and enjoyable. However, the positives were overshadowed by the frustration of dealing with so many broken machines.
Overall, Brooklyn Sports Club has the potential to be a great fitness center, but the pervasive issue of broken equipment severely hinders the experience. Until they address these maintenance problems and improve their customer service, I cannot recommend this...
Read moreBrooklyn Sports Club offers a wealth of potential with its range of fitness amenities. However, the facility's current state of upkeep detracts from the overall experience. Areas requiring attention include general cleanliness and equipment maintenance. Addressing these issues would greatly enhance the club's appeal to members. With some improvements to maintenance, Brooklyn Sports Club could become a top-tier fitness destination. They need maintenance workers who actually clean and maintain the space. The locker room has been falling apart since I joined almost 2 years ago, and it's getting worse. Lockers doors are falling off the hinges and missing bottoms. The maintenance men start screaming to leave 15 minutes before the gym closes and start using bleach while members are present. And all they do is throw bleach and spray water--who knows when the locker room was last scrubbed. They are known to shut the steamroom and sauna down early--they basically want members to move on their time. They treat us like this is a publicly funded rec center and not a $70 a month sports club. When you email the club about these issues, expect to be ghosted. If they dont get it together, the minute another club opens nearby with a pool, steamroom, and...
