I've been coming to this park for years to workout. Whether its early morning or late at night. During the spring and summer, I love seeing the community come out to play handball. Reminds me of old school NYC where members of the community with gather together and play handball. Its very active during the summer.
However, my main thing is working out when I come here and there's two workout sets. The one near the handball set has been there for years and the new workout Kompani set has been there for maybe less than 5 years more or less.
Anyway, both are great and have pretty much everything you need for a good calisthenics workout. I tend to run into a lot of cool individuals and its always a chill atmosphere. Went early on a weekday morning and it was mostly empty save for a few people walking their dogs and a homeless guy talking to himself. While the park itself is nice, I don't normally come here as a local. The location lends itself to you being an easy mugging target because of its proximity to the Hutchinson River parkway.
