DMV Service Centers — Attraction in New York

I visited this dmv to get license plates and registration The front desk staff was very nice I chose the option to get my license plates within 2-3 business days which costed an extra $25 vs the 3-5 business days. I was only able to get my license plate on the 4th day, since they said that their processor wasn’t in the office the day before. I came in to get my plates and requested to get back the $25 that I paid for the express license plate, since I didn’t get my plates said that they called me the day before to pick up my license plate, which isn’tsince they called me on the 4th day (and I called right back) and she wasn’t even in the office the day before which is what they told me. I was coming from crown heights which is around 30 min drive there and 50 min drive back and was very frustrating that I specifically came here for a service and paid for a service, and they didn’t uphold their end like they were supposed to, and didn’t take responsibility for it. Next time I would go to the regular dmv.

Response back to the owner: I’m glad the people reading the reviews will see how bad of an attitude you have and how you comepletly lied. I provided proof that you called me on 10/3 which was the 4th business day, when I called on 10/2 the front desk said it should be ready by the end of the day, but I received no calls and then the next day they literally told me that you didn’t process the paperwork until 10/3 at around 9:30. I didn’t miss any calls from you, you guys weren’t in to process it. Stop lying. Not a good place to register your car from another state into NY. They asked for a form from the original purchase so they could collect tax on the car. The car was fully paid for in 2007 and tax had already been collected at the time. To top it off, the woman helping us was very aggressive and had a "matter of fact" tone the entire time she spoke to us, very condescending. Save your money and your temper, go to the actual DMV as soon as it opens and be in and out within the hour.

I understand that we all have bad days, however it is never okay to take out frustrations on customers unprovoked, and falsely requesting information from customers is also not acceptable. Came in to surrender my license plates, front desk was super rude. They had a “cash only” policy even though there were stickers for credit cards. 50$ to surrender plates in cash?? When it’s a 1$ processing fee at the DMV, this definitely a money laundering place.

Edit: Of course the owner would respond this way. From the moment I walked in you guys already gave me a big attitude, and talk at me super loudly “CASH ONLY”. Which it is very misleading when you have signs up for credit cards. How am I a chronic complainer who wants everything for free when I was willing to pay the price of 50$? I’m complaining because the moment I stepped into your facility the front desk was super rude. I’m complaining because pictures of the pricing you have on google says 40$ and now it’s upped to 50$.
