Now that my now husband and I have settled in, it's time that we leave our honest review.
I am not here to bash this venue. I am here to let people know what actually takes place here, know what type of event they should have here, and my experience at this venue.
#1: If you were promised that the elevator will work, just know that it won't. You will have to carry all your DJ equipment, food, and other items needed for your event UP THE STAIRS. If you have guests in wheelchairs, and walking with canes, this isn't the place for them. When you reach out to the owner, she will not answer. So, you end up dealing with whatever comes your way at the venue at the day of your event.
#2: The venue has unreliable servers/bartenders (according to the owner herself), if not any at all. I had to find A server/ bartenders DAYS before my reception. It was a whole lot to put on one person because I couldn't find someone DAYS before my reception. Due to having one server because the owner was supposed to have this handled, my cousin and my dad had to walk around with garbage bags to dispose guest's plates. Father of the bride, and a wedding guest had to dispose garbage. Not cool.
#3: If you're trying to have 300 SEATED guests for this venue, this is not the venue. The owner does not have enough chairs, and tables to hold 300 guests. She probably has less than 30 tables, and 300 chairs. If she does have these items, her venue can't hold it. This event space can hold 225-250 guests COMFORTABLY.
#4: Bridal Suite: it's basically a little closet. Barely anyone can fit in there. Chairs were stacked, and to say the least it was just not a SUITE.
#5: You will have to provide your own China. (Cups, Plates, Napkins, etc. ) They don't have it.
#6: The DJ booth is tiny and backed into a corner. If your DJ likes to engage with the guests, you may have to lessen your guest count to his items can fit there to DJ for your event.
The best thing that came out of this hall was the owner giving us the hall from 10am to 2 am the following day.
If I am having a regular event here, I would say book it but for weddings, baby showers, it's a no go for me.
I tried to make the best out of this situation even though we are deserving of a partial refund, but I know the owner isn't going to give us one. She has to make her money, and I guess this just how business goes.
Not to speak on other venues but I see why people refrain from booking venues in Richmond Hill because this is the non-sense you have to deal with.
This venue can be the best venue in Queens if the owner paid a little more attention to it.
If she had 4 RELIABLE servers, 2-3 RELIABLE Bartenders, a reliable elevator, and providing China, this hall can be awesome. She also has a really awesome decorator; she's always keeping up with the trends and gives fresh ideas. Also, the number of hours she gives you the venue for is awesome.
Hope this helps someone for...
Read moreI am extremely disgusted with the management of this hall. Many people who attended an even I also attended were elderly and handicap and the elevator was supposedly “out of order”. I saw with my own eyes the manager use the elevator to transport speakers downstairs while an elderly woman was struggling to climb the vast set of stairs that lay in this hall. Also, although the hall was rented until 1:00AM, the manager was rushing the DJ to cut off the music at 12:30 and had waiters taking down decorations and chairs in the midst of the party. Lastly, bottles of liquor were no where to be found half way through the event, only seconds after being out of sight. This halls managment is unprofessional and downright inhumane. Would never recommend this hall to my...
