Veggie Castle II — Restaurant in New York

Their food is bomb and I wanted to pick some up so I called to order for pickup to avoid having to go into the store because there were people without masks. I was told that it was “first come, first serve” and I could only place grill items for pickup. So even though they say they have curbside pickup, they don’t, if you want a side of Mac and cheese, you have to wait on line with people who aren’t wearing masks and go into that store and order. All in the middle of a pandemic. First point of horrible service. When I got there they told me I HAD to wait in line in order to pick up my food, when I asked why since I already ordered they said it was first come first serve... again. After having to call, I was told to approach the guy at the door and give him my name. I did that and he comes out saying that I can’t go into the store and since I was paying with Apple Pay, I had to give him my phone so he can go in and pay. I was extremely uncomfortable with this but seeing as I had no other option. I gave it to him. He comes back and I see that they overcharged me for the whole meal when I just wanted the burger. At this point I was simply frustrated. They finally let me inside and the lady didn’t even apologize for the mistake. She handed me a five dollar bill and two coins. Then gave me the burger. It wasn’t even a full refund, I was given no receipt, no apology, and they looked irritated that they had to fix their mistake. They have good food but all they care about is making money, they don’t care if people wear masks or follow...

I must say the food is good.. but the service is very unprofessional!!!! It's as if u go there to beg.i called ahead to asked if they could leave 5 patties for me, as I'm coming from work all the way in Long island. First the lady who answered the phone was laughing as if she was playing with someone 🙄. I told her that am coming form work to pick up the patyii, so please leave them for me. She said ok. Mind you, the closed at 8:30 she said. I got there 7:15. Ordered two meals. Asked for the Patties. The young man and another girl was holding a bunch of patties and trying to figure out if they were actually mine. Then they called a lady from the kitchen. She came to me smiling. " Ma'am am sorry we sold the Patties" at this point I was so irritated! So I told her I ordered them earlier. She said " I know but we thought you weren't coming again" I said then why didn't someone take my number then and call to ask if I'm still coming? She stood there looking. Ithiabis really bad.bi always buy the Patties and eat them for lunch. Then to make matters worst.. when I got home I realized they served me one of the food wrong 😡😡😡you guys need to do better for the sake of the loyal customers. It's not always about the money. And whatever that chicken was, it's sweet as hell 🙄think about the customers. Listen to them for Christ sake. Am sooo angry. I should have just leave when they told me they sold the Patties. I wasted my 26 dollars....

I do not live near Richmond Hills, but find a good excuse to take a pilgrimage west. What's great about this place is meat eaters and non meat eaters can both be satisfied here. Their food is familiar enough for everyone. From Asian noodles, to rice and beans, veggie choices to even mac and cheese. The protein choices simulate meat. There is even a mock chicken drumstick variety. I like the curry chicken. The only thing that keeps me from eating in more often is the price. My large meal came with three sides and two proteins. That takeaway container was $20. I have a persistent sweet tooth so I always get cake when I go. For my fellow purveyors of sugary snacks, please be aware that the cakes probably aren't a texture that you are used to. These cakes are very dense. They're not light and fluffy like the egg contained cousins. Don't get me wrong, that doesn't make it bad. They're just not light and airy. They are more heavy. I suggest letting them warm up a little bit to room temperature and not eating them cold from the refrigerator. That is when they are the hardest. Awesome when knockimg it down with a nice warm drink like tea or coffee. Please keep in mind those looking for date night, you will be eating this in your car as they do not have a dining area.
