The worst hotel experience of my life - I have never written a negative review before, but this was an absolute NIGHTMARE.
I arrived at the hotel and it was incredibly hard to get to, the pavement on the sidewalks did not lend itself to easy suitcase-dragging. The room itself was tiny, which... Okay. I didn't mind that, I was only there for one night because of it's proximity to the airport. But then the real nightmare began. It was so loud, partying everywhere. Well, I'm pragmatic, shove earplugs in and hope for the best. I'm so damn tired at that point. Just as I thought the noise was my biggest problem, the smell of weed began to creep in. Safe to say I barely slept that night, caught between coughing and noise. Then, the next morning... I notice foundation and red lipstick stains all over the pillows and sheets. Yikes. I wasn't wearing either. Grossed out, I trudge to the bathroom to shower - and you know what I notice there? A. Used. Condom. On the floor next to the bin. I hadn't noticed it because I was too tired the night before, but GOOD GRIEF. It wasn't like it was hidden, anyone who was awake enough and sent in to clean would have noticed.
Upon checkout, I inform the person at the desk of these impossibile conditions. What do I get? No offer of a (at least partial) refund, nothing. "Oh, that's not usually the case". I WOULD HOPE NOT!
Really, I have never written a negative review before, but this hotel was a real nightmare and I hope no one else has to suffer it. One star is too much, really. I wish I could give 0....
Read moreOur room was so small you could barely walk next to the bed. There was no place to put our stuff to unpack luggage. Our bed was a double and they put king size sheets on it, while sleeping they'd always come away from the bedand wrap around us. Room had NO coffee pot, NO microwave, NO ice bucket like every other hotel. It had a small fridge but, why save stuff in the fridge if there's no way to heat it? When we asked the staff about coffee, Tea or cafeteria, they told us they didn't have any of those. Shower curtain was very thin cloth and allowed water to pile up on the floor. We paid for 3 days/ nights, they argued with us after the first day, saying we didn't. Showing a bank statement was needed to convince them. Rooms were suppose to be smoke free and so many people smoked. We could smell it in the hallways, in the morning when we woke up, during the day if we stayed in the room. People were allowed to blast their music, making it difficult to enjoy relaxing. I would not...
Read more10 minutes walk to the train station to get into the heart of NYC, a Dunkin donuts across the road open 24/7. As it's a new hotel everything is super clean and new which is nice, The downfall is there are teething problems when you're new, our refrigerator did not work, and our air conditioner did not cool, our room was warmer than the hallways and outside. Advised reception of these issues after our first day and was not fixed. Also cleaning happens at 9am but checkout is at 11am? Wouldn't cleaning happen after 11am? So our room was not cleaned for the 3 days we were there even after putting the hanger on our door for maid service. Was overall an ok experience, not sure if we will stay again when there are a lot of other choices, but will not write them off as they did try, they gave us a late checkout, also were willing to book a cab for us to the airport for all the issues faced. Hopefully I get the chance to stay again and it's improved so I can...
