I would rate this establishment with negative five stars if I had an option. I can't rate this business based on selection, cleanness, etc. since I have not shopped there for ages. But I would like to share with the community how disrespectful and inconsiderable the manager of the store is. I am talking about the manager whose shift was on July 2, 2018 between hours 9:00 Am and 5:00 PM in case this establishment has several managers. My father, who is approaching 90, was buying groceries that day, and unfortunately had to use the restroom. He asked the manger to make an exception and allow him to use the restroom. Looking at my father it is very obvious that he can't move rapidly, he is using a walker and oxygen, and the temperature was over 100 degrees. The "helpful" manager refused my father to use the restroom. Not by any means my father looks like a homeless or dirty person. He is an innocent old man who asked for a bathroom. My parents have been living in this neighborhood for a very long time, and are permanent customers of this store. Unfortunately, this is the only supermarket within reachable distance for my father. I would make everything possible to make sure that my parents would not bring any business to this supermarket. I also will make sure to meet this manager and person and ask a simple question: "Do you have parents? Do you think you are going to stay at the age and health conditions you are at today forever? Have you been brought up to respect elderly?" Or what is going on behind the doors if the manager refused an access to the restroom? Should you be buying groceries at the store that does not feel comfortable to show off its "back stage". If the local supermarket that gets all business from the local community does not help its members,...
Read moreI am no longer an employee of this establishment. But I have known the owners and the managers for many years. They are very concerned for their customers and are very courteous when dealing with issues or requests from such customers. Unfortunately there restrooms are located in their basement and are not easily accessible to a person who is 90 years old who's on oxygen who can hardly walk. There are concrete stairs and obstacles such as conveyor belts and inventory properly stored. And for that fact the liability that goes with the usage of that restroom for that particular person would be very high. I agree with their decision and I'm sorry your father had that dilemma but I stand with food Plus. As for any other issues about cleanliness or how they maintain there establishment I first hand see how meticulously they enhance the store daily. It is run very professional and I am not obligated to shop there but I do because of those facts I for mentioned. And I will continue to shop there for as long as they are open. Peter G. A...
Read moreThis morning I decided to buy my Lunch from the Deli so I purchased Grill Chicken and Fruit from produce . when I asked for a Napkin and a fork , the Deli manager refused to give them to me and told me to get it from the front . His entire demeanor changed when a Person of color entered the Deli Section . I was offended and upset , They should just put Whites and Hispanics Only. There is absolutely no room for prejudiced and discrimination in this city and or State. I will also complain with the Better Business Bureau because instead of correcting the problem the manager offered to give me a dirty napkin and fork from the front . He was totally condoning the behavior . I will continue to raise awareness about this because this is a diverse Neighborhood and no spending Customer should...
