I'm writing this letter to inform all customers about my unfortunate experience with the owner of Kissena Appliance. She took advantage of me by selling me a damaged air conditioner and has refused to resolve the issue or refund my money.
I received a phone call on July 31, 2025, from the Cooling Assistance Benefit for the senior program, and my mom is approved to receive a free air conditioner. On August 3, 2025, the two delivery guys came with the two air conditioners. At first, the Kissena Appliance store gave my mom a defective air conditioner that made loud noises. It affected us so severely with a headache. I told them about the situation, and the lady boss asked me to record the sound and send it to her, so I did. She then agreed to change it. My mom received a brand new air conditioner with a quiet sound immediately after I requested a replacement.
I spoke to the lady boss by phone on July 31, 2025, from Kissena Appliance and asked her if I could buy an air conditioner for myself. She replied yes, but didn't ask me what kind of air conditioner I wanted to purchase, but told me the amount will be $360 plus installation. On August 3, 2025, I experienced the same issue with my air conditioner, which made a loud noise, and it automatically shut off. She wanted me to record the sound from the air conditioner and send it to her. I did, but she ignored me. Therefore, she blamed me for not mentioning what type of air conditioner I wanted and accused me of turning the setting to auto to shut off. I told her it was on auto shut-off after the delivery guy installed it on my window, and it had a foul odor coming out of the air conditioner. The delivery guy smelled it and didn't say anything about it.
On August 4, 2025, I requested to replace the air conditioner with a new one. The lady boss tried to charge me more money, but then refused to change it and make me keep a defective air conditioner. I mentioned that the loud noise from the air conditioner kept me awake and affected me, and it shut off by itself. She gave me an attitude by telling me, "That's your problem". I told her that I pay in cash, and I want my full refund back. She told me she wanted to come to my home and hear the loud noise from the air conditioner and agreed to give me my money back, but tried to charge me to deliver the defective air conditioner back to the store, and then started mumbling on the phone. She didn't ask me for permission to go to my house this Saturday, August 9, 2025, disrespected me with no dignity, and then hung up on me.
On August 7, 2025, I called Kissena Appliance store and spoke to Amanda Liang to ask for the lady boss's full name. I want to file a complaint against the lady boss for not refunding my money. I received a second-hand air conditioner that is entirely useless. It shuts off by itself and makes audible noises from the fan motor, which makes me unable to sleep at all. The lady boss kept arguing with me that there was nothing wrong with the air conditioner and that there was no loud noise. Therefore, she ignored the problem and told me she would not give me her name, being rude and telling me, "If you have the ability, find my name." You gave me a second-hand air conditioner, and I want my money back. Try to make up excuses by saying, What if I don't hear any loud noise or her workers? What will I get from you?
