As a latecomer to current events, I bounced around to various sources to gather information. Of course, I had heard all the warnings about Fox News and other sources (websites, radio shows) that should be avoided, so I obediently avoided them. That decision caused me some great embarrassment over the years as I discussed current events with co-workers and friends. I thought I was so informed and could carry my own in an exchange of ideas and opinions concerning politics and foreign affairs. Time after time, I got my comeuppance after I had posited what I considered a brilliant assessment of the state of things. It seems there were always a couple of people much more informed than I was.
Tired of wearing egg on my face, I began to venture out to the places those "know-it-alls" got some of their info. Fox News was one of those venues. At the same time, I started studying journalism for three semesters at one of the colleges in our city. I encourage everyone to do that. It is such an eye-opener! I can now see things in news reporting that I couldn't see before. Not only am I much better informed, I'm no longer embarrassed by being ignorant on a topic!
The best lesson I took away from this experience? Not to listen to narrow opinions of others--especially when you KNOW they're coming from a biased POV. You can save yourself a boatload of embarrassment! BTW, this advice is only for those who are not afraid of truth. If it's a liberal agenda you want to nurse, Fox might not be for you. The journalists (not the commentators who are admittedly biased) are fair and balanced, as their slogan says. If you're someone who likes to hear only your side of an issue, you won't be able to...
Read moreThe only reason I am giving 3 stars is for two reasons only.... (1)They need to have a FOX NEWS store inside the building for fans of Fox News Network!!!! Come on already! It would be a great outlet for all reporters/anchors to sell their books (book signings. Also fans could purchase stuff such as t-shirts, pens, mugs, pillows, pictures etc. Please open a Fox News gift shop!!! It's in NYC for a reason! (Reason # 2) Fox News Channel itself needs to get with the times and have an "ON DEMAND" option as so many other channels already have! I subscribe to Direct Tv personally, but I do not think it's even an option with other services otherwise. Having an "on demand" feature would allow me to go back to previously aired shows throughout the day that I may have missed or did not DVR. Other than those two issues I absolutely LOVE Fox News!!!! Especially Kimberly & the rest of The Five! I wake up to Fox & Friends every morning! Have dinner to Bill O'Reilly followed by Megyn Kelly and finally fall asleep after getting my fair share of Sean Hannity! All the above mentioned are religiously set to record on my DVR everyday!!!!! Oh, wait! I cannot forget the weekends with Justice With Judge Janine Piro and The Greg Gutfeld Show!!! Fox News is The #1 News network on TV!!! I hope they continue dominating each News hour and cycle. Fair and balanced and no spin zone! Keep up the amazing journalism!...
Read moreWent for a VIP concert scheduled for 7am to 9am on 8/25/2023. I had no idea the concert was gonna be outside. I had my 83 yo mother, my 15 yo son, with special needs and my 60 yo old aunt with me. It was raining, not drizzling and we had to stand on a line outside in the rain without a tent. I thought the concert was gonna be in the studio inside the building. My mother and aunt had to go to a nearby McDonald's because Fox had no accommodations for seniors with disabilities in or outside of the building according to the multiple security personnel in and out of the building. I asked if there was an area inside the building where they could sit or if they had chairs they could use and I was told they did but, only for the employees. It's a sad day when you see an elderly women with a cane who has trouble walking or standing and you have no compassion for them. I hope in the future, Fox will make accommodations for the seniors who would love to enjoy these outdoor...
