"From the moment I walked in, I knew The Elgin was something special. This isn't just another NYC bar – it's a masterclass in hospitality, craft cocktails, and atmosphere."
What Made It Outstanding: 🍹 Next-Level Cocktails: The mixology program is inventive yet approachable. My smoked rosemary mezal mule was perfectly balanced – complex enough for connoisseurs but delicious enough for casual drinkers. The whiskey selection (especially their rare finds) impressed my entire group.
✨ Impeccable Service: The staff struck the perfect balance – attentive without being overbearing, knowledgeable but never pretentious. Our server remembered our names and made excellent recommendations.
🎶 Vibe Perfection: The Elgin nails that elusive combination of upscale yet unpretentious. Whether you're on a date or with friends, the energy feels just right – lively but never overwhelming.
🧼 Spotless Standards: As someone who notices details, I appreciated the immaculate bar area and restrooms (a true mark of a well-run establishment).
Standout Moment: When we couldn't decide between two cocktails, the bartender crafted us mini versions to try – a thoughtful touch that shows their commitment to guest experience.
Perfect For: • Craft cocktail enthusiasts • Date nights with substance • Small groups who appreciate good service • Anyone tired of NYC's "style over substance" spots
Don't Miss: Their seasonal cocktail menu and the bar snacks (the spiced nuts are dangerously good).
Final Verdict: The Elgin sets the standard for what a great neighborhood bar should be – exceptional drinks, warm service, and that magical "I can't wait to come back" feeling. Already planning...
Read moreIf you weren’t sure if you should dine at Elgin, let this be your sign. My husband and I were spending the day in the city to later go to a jazz club to celebrate our anniversary. I searched for weeks to figure out where we should eat prior, and being that we would be in a tourist-y part of Manhattan, I didn’t want anything gimmicky. I looked for a good menu with nice reviews and a cool looking ambiance. This. Place. Is. It!!! The Elgin exceeded my husband and I’s expectations. We sat at the bar, ordered delicious specialty margaritas, which I may add, were perfectly crafted! We ordered the Saigon wings, tuna poke nachos, and we split the burger. All 10/10. Everything was perfectly seasoned and had great flavor. Aside from the food & drinks being fantastic, our bartender, who we later learned was the manager, Conor, will be the reason we continue coming back anytime we’re in the city. He went ABOVE AND BEYOND for us. Great conversation and was incredibly hospitable not even knowing we were there to celebrate an anniversary until later. Conor was engaging and you could tell he was extremely passionate about the restaurant and cocktails, educating us about the liquors and processes of making each drink. When learning it was our anniversary he brought us a dessert and champagne to celebrate. He was incredibly kind — people like Conor are truly the reason I enjoy going out. Good food and drinks are great, but nothing will make me want to come back soon other than people like him! He truly made our experience one of a kind and so memorable. You...
