I went to the pool for the first time ever this year. Took the 2/3 train there. It was relatively easy to get to. The train crowd at the 110th St station isn’t very nice coming back from but going was simple.
The pool facilities are gorgeous. Entry into the pool was like any other city pool. Bring your lock (master combination lock only), have nothing in your bag but your bathing suit, wallet, & towel. Straight forward.
The showers are lacking shower stalls which is inconvenient.
The pool is clean but doesn’t appear to have enough chlorine in it. Also half the pool was closed when I came. They could have easily opened it up for lap swim or something. Full use of the pool isn’t granted.
I went there in the latter half of the day so there wasn’t as much sun and I noticed where there was sun, it wasn’t cast onto the pool so it left the pool kind of in the shade, which wasn’t exactly as fun to swim in.
However, the scenery of the Central Park creeks, lawns & turtle ponds are absolutely gorgeous and stunning and makes it so nice to walk toward on the way there.
I was really excited coming to this pool, it didn’t meet my expectations but it has a lot of potential. I hope they make some upgrade...
Read moreSuch a great pool in general.I've gone twice & the temperature of the water was heavenly! Just have a good lock & a little patience because the women's locker room is so small!! Smh Not sure why! It's tiny & gets crowded but there's also a sprinkler section for children which is divine! I found myself running through them myself like a kid with my daughter. The pool itself is on a ramp so you can start from the short side with your lil ones and it gradually gets deeper. I think around 3' 8in. It's new so usually there's a line but it does move quickly. Water is heavenly but that locker room needs to be at least doubled! Staff was nice & no issues.... AN UPDATE: Came sat the 26th, & literally as soon as our bags were going to get checked, some1 💩 in the pool! 🤬🤢Now I know things happen but that's why you buy toddler swimmers to avoid this! Yuck, & they announced to wait over an hour so I left. They only said something after I made a stank of what the hold up was?! They should've never check babies without the baby swimmers to avoid this. I understand parents don't wanna spend the extra money but at what cost?! Now...
Read moreHighly Disappointing and terrible service. My kids (16, 16, 12, 8 all highly accomplished swimmers) were looking forward to a nice afternoon swim and were let down by the atrocious service from the “employees” here. We arrived, kids in swim suits and my husband in swim shorts. We told that we were not allowed to have our bag on the pool deck with us. I decided to wait outside. I was also not allowed in as I did not have my swimmers. My husband proceeded to enter with his shirt on and was told he was not allowed to take his light grey shirt in as it may get bleached. Pretty sure it’s not their concern if my husband’s shirt got bleached, that would be our decision. Oh but, what about the shorts/swimmers we are wearing in the pool? None of this information is on the website. The “employees” said it’s on the board at the gate but we were already there. They also have a notice of time periods. This is also not listed in the website. Clearly NYC DO NOT CARE about sun safety or the enjoyment of children. As a side note, the “employees” were quite racist towards us allowing other non white people to wear shirts...
